Your ideas can be stolen too.

Hello, everyone.

As humans, creativity is part of our thing. It is a digital world, and that gives us the power to reach a larger audience. If you surf through the hive platform, you see creativity at different levels. Some people put their imagination on a piece of paper as art, and you can only wonder how they were able to put such beauty together. If you visit web 2.0 platforms like Facebook and Instagram, you will continue to see creativity and how much of a creative being we humans are.

In a world where technology is the order of the day, it is very important for everyone to safeguard every piece of intellectual property they own. There are people out there looking for creative minds to prey on creative minds they can start up a parasitic relationship with. In this digital age, unauthorized access to and usage of people's intellectual property is slowly becoming normal. On the internet, you see many content creators following the same story line, more like the same food is forced down our throats but by different people.

Unauthorized use and access to people's intellectual property is more common on web 2.0 platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and it's annoying to see a big account steal ideas and contents from a small account and be allowed to earn rewards from the idea or content stolen. In most cases, they are not sanctioned for such an act and make it a habit. On Web 2 platforms, big accounts prey on small accounts as they have a larger audience and don't give credit to the small account they prey on, while the small account, which is the brain behind the creativity, gets no credit at all. In this digital era, not just houses and stuff can be stolen; in this digital era, even your ideas can be stolen too.

The digital era made life a lot easier than it used to be, and it also made stealing people's ideas and intellectual properties a lot easier too. You don't need to undergo so much stress to make someone's idea look like yours anymore; this has in some ways reduced our level of creativity. Instead of trying to be creative, many people wait to steal from others.

This is exactly why web-based platforms like Hive came into existence. Web 3 platforms like Hive are bridging the gap that web 2 platforms like Facebook and Instagram created. On hives, big accounts are not given the liberty to prey on small accounts; all users are treated equally. It is only on platforms like the hive platform that we get to enjoy intellectual property rights to the brim. Defaulters are severely punished.

A friend of mine, who is a graphic designer, made a beautiful design for a party organizer and host. Everyone who saw this design loved it, only for us to see something similar to his design on another graphics designer's Instagram page, claiming that he designed it himself. My friend chatted him up, and he admitted stealing the ideas from his design and then apologized for his wrongdoing.

At first, he still wanted to stand his ground, claiming to be the designer behind the whole idea of the design and what it looks like.
