Hello everyone! This is my first ever post in this community. I am participant in the Community Contest #8 : Manga And Manhwa Review. I found out about this contest because of @queen-silvia and I wanted to give it a try! I don't want to reveal too much about myself but I'm from Portugal and I love gaming, football (soccer for Americans), anime, movies, TV series, and reading. I'm currently playing Splinterlands, the reason why I have a Hive account. I'm going to talk about the One Punch Man manga.

How I got into One Punch Man

As the anime was starting season 1, I read good things about it and I checked it out. I instantly got hooked and could not wait for the following episode to drop. The animation, music, and story were all great! A few years later, season 2 dropped. It changed studios, and the animation wasn't as good but I still enjoyed watching. However, I wanted more. So I started reading the manga. I have been able to buy the first 21 volumes. One day, I want to have the complete collection.

How it started out

One Punch Man started as a webcomic, written and drawn by ONE, starting in 2009. Sheuisha commissioned Yusuke Murata to draw the series as a Manga, with ONE, starting in 2012. Murata has been doing an amazing job! His drawings are beautiful and have crazy detail.

The general story and premise

One Punch Man is a story about Saitama who is so powerful, he can defeat any opponent, with just one punch. The problem is that Saitama can't find enjoyment in fighting anymore and is always bored. You'd think a story about someone who starts as the most powerful would not be interesting but ONE and Murata have managed to make it work. It takes many troupes from Shonen Manga/Anime and either exaggerate them or turns them around. It's also full of humor. Just because Saitama is extremely overpowered, doesn't mean he has an easy life or that he looks down on others. It also has many other interesting characters, both heroes and villains.

What to expect from the future

I never read the webcomic but I know the Manga doesn't follow it 100%. No one knows how the story will end, how the mysteries will be solved, and what more the story is hiding. Anime fans are still waiting for season 3.

Other works

ONE also created Mob Psycho 100, which features another overpowered character. Yes, ONE makes it work a second time! Very recently, he started a new manga called Versus. This time, it shockingly doesn't feature any overpowered protagonist!

Conclusion

That's all I have to tell you. I could have gotten into more details, however, I don't want to spoil the story for people who might have not watched/read One Punch Man. If you haven't, I hope this is enough for you to want to check it out.

I am tagging @asdfghjkiraaa and @mhowii to invite them to participate. I'd like to thank everyone who reads this and I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time!
