Everton got dealt with by their Merseyside rivals in one of the many games to come in December. What a way to start the month for Liverpool and a terrible way to start for Everton.

This game has been billed to go in one direction but no one expected that scoreline but Liverpool showed why they have to be considered a serious title contender for the title this season.

Liverpool ran riot and thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson, a double from Mo' Salah and the in-form Diogo Jota. Everton got a goal of their own when Liverpool were 2 goals up but in the end, it proved to be a mere consolation goal as Liverpool took the 3 points.

Liverpool should have been ahead when Joel Matip was found inside the box with a lovely freekick delivery but he steered his header wide. It wasn't long after when Jota brilliantly found Salah inside the box and Salah bundled the ball over the bar despite being just a yard from the net. Salah missed another opportunity after being found in the box from the left-hand side by Mane but this time around the goalkeeper got a touch to the ball.

Liverpool's early dominance paid off in the 9th minute when Mane fed Robertson who did a cut back pass to Henderson who was just lurking on the line. He produced a brilliant left-footed curling effort that beat Pickford as it found the back of the net to give them a deserved lead.

It wasn't long again, in the 19th minute, Henderson found Salah with a long low drive pass and with a burst of pace, Salah beat Pickford with a sumptuous effort after going one on one on the right-hand side of the pitch. It has been a long time coming and Liverpool wouldn't stop now.

In the 38th minute, Richarlison produced a lovely pass to Gray who wasted no time in placing the ball into the back of the net despite a touch from between the legs of Alisson. Pickford then denied Salah on the other end after Alexander Arnold found him inside the box as Pickford was determined to keep the scoreline at 2-1.

Mo Salah got his 19th goal this season already in a brilliant fashion when he robbed off Seamus Coleman after his head touch in the 64th minute. He raced on goal, held off his marker and slotted the ball beyond the arms of Pickford into the back of the net to restore the 2 goals cushion.

Robertson got his second assist of the game in the 79th minute after he picked out Jota inside the box. Jota did well to turn and lose his marker as he blasted the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle leaving Pickford clueless and the reds marching on with a comprehensive 4-1 win.
