Never The Same Without You.

IMG_20220513_123054.jpg

It's funny how the years go by so quickly
I wish I can pick the good days like I choose my beans so patiently
Each year is a reflection of how you are - so tenderly
Too bad I couldn't watch you grow into grey hair like the elderly
It's another year without you for me to reach
25 years gone just like that without a new word from you to preach
Each year is never the same without you but there is your voice in me to teach
Your sweet and calm voice that drives away my fears - tender and sweeter than peach
Still fresh in my mind like yesterday when you never came back home
With soaked face I cling to my pillow on the foam
Still very young, I still can't believe I didn't even know your tomb
Like dealt the heavy blow with me through you, like a bomb
You were not even graced with the dignity of bidding me goodbye
To me you are not gone regardless because I get timely reminders of you
You made me fall in love with seeing beautiful smiles because yours is the best I've seen
You made me appreciate calmness like a river because that was all you exhude
And not a year passes without your thought, can't exclude
Adebisi Abiodun, you may be gone but never forgotten
Earth's loss is heaven's gain - it's one big homecoming for you in heaven
I know you are still singing with the angels because you were one when you were here
Sleep after toil, ease after war, calm after stormy seas and life after death
It does greatly please
A day less to singing alongside you forever, darling sister
It's true but sometimes people come in like a breeze then roll out like a storm
It's a testament of the greatness that they possess
The love and bond we share can never regress

"It's been a long day, without you my sister, and I'm going to tell you all about it when I see you again. We've come a long way, from where we began, but I'm going to tell you all about it when I see you again." 25 years today, always like yesterday. I miss you and I can't say that enough. Rest on Adebisi Abiodun. Your smile still play on in my head...still haven't seen anyone with that smile...

Thank you for your time.

May her soul keep resting in perfect peace 🕊️ no matter what we say or do that can rewind those days you spent with her
You will tell her how you miss her when you finally meet her but not anytime soon sha

We can't take back the hand of time and sometimes we wish there was something we can do to make it alright. That's life I guess.

Oh, I wish it's something I can do. I would gladly go back to 1998 and probably stay there or go back at will just to spend more time with her.

That's the painful thing about death .... You're left in awe about the things left untold and here you are with nobody to listen to because the dead doesn't speak back to us.

It's all a hope of meeting her someday that we cling on to but Like you said... Not anytime soon

If only we could rewind those days, but unfortunately we're stuck in an ephemeral time zone where the clock ticks only forward.

That's why it's paramount we appreciate those most dearest to us while on Earth.

I guess one day we'll all meet, somewhere, someplace. But as you said "not anytime soon"

Honestly that was a beautiful poem and anyone would be glad to have that published in her name
The depth of the wordings really said a lot about how amazing of a person she was..

May she keep resting in the Lord

Death is inevitable and if we could trade object for it, we will keep alot of our loved ones alive

She did justice to the poem and I believe that she will always be happy as an angel seeing you excelling in life.

Death is inevitable. We all have to fall to it at some point and we can only pray it's later rather than sooner. It's a painful pill to swallow and only God can get us through. It's tougher for some than others.

It's inevitable. I wish it's something we can trade off like she suggested. I would have gladly given it what it takes just to have my lost loved ones close to me.

We're really left with no such option and it's a sad one to think death will just come one day and take away our loved ones even without prior notice.
But regardless, what we do have is to make everyday of our lives count so that we will be remembered here on earth for the good we've done and also that we be able to make eternity at the end.
I guess that will be a life well spent... Hopefully, we will get to reunite with all our loved ones in heaven.

Sorry for your loss once more... Accept my condolences

Wouldn't it be cool... to trade objects so we can have our loved ones closer and for long. I would have given so many things away to have her, my dad and mum back too.

Thank you so much.

Sadly, death is inevitable. We all wish we could live forever but this is the reality of life. Our day will eventually come, a day where all that'll speak for you is your good deeds.

That's why our ultimate goal should be focused on eternity in paradise and not on the things of this world — for it is just for a while.

They are real and felt. There is no right or wrong way to express how we feel. We just have to be real with it. Thank you.

The loss of our loved one never leaves us the same. We think about it, imagine life with them and the sharp contrast of what's happening without them. We have a lot of ifs and what we could or should have done better to salvage the situation. That's the way it works.

I wish you more strength because it's never an easy thing to deal with. Love to you and your loved ones.

A lot of ifs honestly and what could have been done.
Those are really the most painful aspect of death especially when you couldn't get to exhaust all your options before the death

You keep wondering, if I didn't go here or there, I would have been around to take her to the hospital and stuffs like that...

We're only but humans and the limited gift of not been able to know the future will always deal with us
We can only do the very much we can and as always, leave the rest fit God.

This is a great poem in tribute to your sister, Adebisi Abiodun, may she continue to rest in peace, but as you say she is not completely gone as long as you remember her smile and those special moments you spent with her, she will continue to live on in your heart ♥

Too bad I couldn't watch you grow into grey hair like the elderly

It's Very sad to lose a lover one.... Moreso, to lose our sister.
It's all pain over your post but then what I pictured and I'm glad about it is that your sister lived a good life inscribing her name in the minds of you and other siblings.
Most times, it's really not a matter of how long we lived, it's a clear matter of how well we lived and in her case, she lived well

May her soul rest in peace and may God always give you the heart to bear your loss

Adebisi Abiodun, you may be gone but never forgotten

That's the greatest gift you will give her... May her story be good among your clan as the lady with the golden smile.

May She rest on 🕊️

What a touching poem. It's truly sad to lose someone who has always been there for you, even before you came to realize your existence on Earth.

It seems as though the pain can never go away, especially when the memory of blissful moments together is awakened. I do know she's resting in an everlasting city, a place where pain, sadness and grief will be felt no more.

Beautiful write-up💯♥️
