Perfect Performance From City.

Manchester City produced a perfect performance against the in-form Brighton who has been performing well of late in this season. Manchester City showed character and made it known that they won't give any chance to let Chelsea run out of sight and they did.

They beat Brighton by 4-1 and Gundogan, Mahrez and Phil Foden (two goals) put Brighton to the sword even though Mac Allister scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot. Despite the loss, Brighton still remained 4th as City moved 2 points behind the leaders, as they occupied the 2nd place.

As early as the 13th minute, City went ahead after the goalkeeper lost the grip on the ball after he went high for the ball and Bernado Silva's acrobatic effort gave Gundogan the perfect opportunity to simply tap home the ball with ease. There were protests as to infringement on the goalkeeper but he clearly dropped the ball even though Gabriel Jesus clattered into him.

From attack to concluding the second goal and that was the harsh reality for Brighton after they lost the ball in City's half, City showed a swift counter-attack as Bernado Silva sent Jack Grealish racing on goal and he did so well to pick out Foden who managed to bundle the ball into the back of the net in the 28th minute.

Another lost ball was pounced on by the impressive Bernado Silva. He found Gabriel Jesus who then, in turn, found Jack Grealish on the left-hand side of the box but his shot was tame and it was blocked off by the goalkeeper and fortunately for Gabriel Jesus, it was sent into his path and his shot came off Phil Foden into the back of the net. The goalkeeper should have done better there but for the deflection off Foden, his reaction wasn't quite strong. The goal was credited to Phil Foden to register his second goal and City's third in the 31st minute.

Ederson gave a penalty away in the 80th minute which made the referee point to the spot. As a goalkeeper, he should have known better and Mac Allister stepped up to convert the ball despite Ederson getting a touch on it he couldn't prevent the ball from going in.

City ended any hope of another goal from Brighton when Riyad Mahrez scored in the 5th minute of the added time. Another sloppy pass from Brighton was punished yet again when Foden pounced on it this time around before finding Mahrez on the right-hand side of the box. With time on his hands, he took his time before blasting the ball into the back of the net to seal the win with ease.

The game ended 4-1 and you can see the gulf in class between the two sides.
