Three Tune Tuesday Week 63 - Slow Emotions.

avatar

Welcome to a day I tagged @ablaze's day due to the brilliant mind behind Three Tune Tuesday (TTT). Thank you for this wonderful idea... I've been listening to more music than I've done in a long while. I love the fact that it helps us to appreciate music even more.

I see music as art, as we use words to carve out every inch and paint a beautiful rainbow with our emotions. You can't love music and not appreciate art. Just as they say that whoever opens their eyes while kissing isn't giving the kiss the attention it deserves, I would say whoever just listens to music for the sake of listening doesn't understand the artistic genius behind music. It's about creativity, working with emotions and dealing with emotions. I love how music can be so expressive which is why I love it even more.

Emotions... It can go either way... Either of pure joy or sorrow... Of love or of grieve which is why I'm sharing these amazing songs with us today for my TTT.

The first song for today's TTT is:

Artist: "Birdy"
Title of Song: "Without A Word"

I fell in love with this song when I watched Vampire Diaries, especially the episode where Bonnie Bennett died and they were holding a funeral for her. I have this thing with music that anytime I hear a song in a movie which I liked, I would use this app called "Shazam" to search for the song or nowadays, I just make sure I get a few of the lyrics and search online for the song. I got to know a lot of songs that most people are not familiar with this way. I have heard most people tell me "I have heard this song before but I didn't know the title or the name of the artist."

She was 15 years old when she came up with this track and it's about the story her father told her because the father was also a writer then. I admire her creative mind to be able to put feelings into words which even made the Vampire Diaries series adopt it for the departed Bonnie Bennett. The original story that birthed the song was about two lovers who loved themselves so much that one of them had to leave. She didn't say more about it either because she didn't want to make it a spoiler about her dad's book but the song perfectly explains a lot.

Here is my favourite part of the lyrics:

Hey you can tell the world
That you're leaving
And you can pack your bags
And spread your wings
And you can tell them all
That it's over
But while you wave goodbye
I'll be getting closer

The general mood of this song is subjective. We can spin it into any situation we feel applies to us. It could be that a daughter is leaving her parents, a lover leaving another lover, friends leaving each other... The thing is, one person left the other and the person that left means so much to the other who is still keeping that faint hope. I love how Birdy caresses the words and gave deep meaning to each line.

The second song for today's TTT is:

Artist: "Westlife"
Title of Song: "Angel"

I grew up loving this song. There is something about slow songs, they put you in a reflective mood - you get yourself to start thinking deeply. In fact, you can start thinking about a lady that left you which you haven't even met. 😂🤣. Imagine a slow song and Westlife play as the artist - impressively good.

I love this slow song filled with emotions and Westlife delivered so well on this song. I later got to know that Sarah McLachlan wrote this song and this song belongs to her but I heard Westlife's version first and I am sorry, I preferred it. She said she got inspired by a keyboard player that was from the Rolling stones who OD'ed. She said she felt sympathy for him because he must have felt so lonely and in search of an endless release because she can relate to it too since she has been on the road for 2 years running. This is why I said I love music; they birth life and breathe life into words.

You can watch Sarah McLachlan's version:

Check out the part I love in the lyrics:

I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
Memory seeps
From my veins
Let me be empty
And weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

I love how she played with words.

The last song for today is:

Artist: "Enya"
Title of Song: "Only Time"

I have love for songs that most people tag as weird. I can remember a friend of mine that every time he wants to go to sleep he listens to Enya... He said her songs are weird and they put him to sleep 🤣😂🤣😂. I listened to Enya from him and this guy downloaded a lot of her songs. That was my first encounter with Enya and I love her uniqueness.

I love songs that can be related to and this song talks about time. Nobody knows tomorrow. We can plan, and give our best but we are still not smart enough to know the events of tomorrow. I'm not talking about efforts or carving our path but about certain life's eventualities. It can even be about lovers who feel they would be together forever but only time can reveal all truth.

The whole idea of this song is based on time and that's why I love it and how she carefully broke those words to us. My favourite part of the lyrics? It has to be:

"Who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only time...
And who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...
Who knows?
Only time...
Who knows?
Only time..."

That's all I have for us this week and I hope your appreciation for this kind of music can be heightened...and for non-music lovers, I hope you start seeing what we are seeing. Music is amazing and expressive.

Thank you for your time.

My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.

Still me,

My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.

that whoever opens their eyes while kissing isn't giving the kiss the attention it deserves

😂😂😂 I am learning something today.

Music should be listened to attentively to get the message from the lyrics.

I also love to listen to songs being played in movies when I like them, I only need to type a few lyrics on Google and I would get it.

The first song sounds so emotional and I like it.

The Enya song, I think I have heard it being played somewhere before but I couldn't find it since I don't know the lyrics. I love it 😊

Thanks for the kind words man and I couldn't agree more with what you say, music is art no doubt about it. It sends chills down my spine at times and brings me to highs like few others.

That Birdy song man, just wow!! I'd never heard it before, absolutely gorgeous.

Sarah McLachlan's Angel just had me crying, as this was one of the songs from my daughter's funeral, what a beautiful song and although it makes me sad, it also makes me happy to think of my daughter who was "born sleeping"

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. Deeply sorry. Music is capable of giving us double emotions. I'm sorry I brought back memories. Keep being strong for her sir. 🤗

Nothing to be sorry for man, I like remembering her and talking about her. Music is a vehicle for the soul and the mind and for our feelings.
