What's Life To You?

There is more to our lives than for us to make money, live and die. I still can't understand why so many people take life too seriously as though they will exist forever. It doesn't mean we can't hold ourselves to certain standards, I am only talking about those who just want to live for themselves sometimes. Of course, I won't blame anyone because we are shaped by how we see life and we all have different exposures.

God's great plan is backed up by great challenges but the thing is, it's not all the time that the things we go through come from God. Most of them are caused by us. We always blame the devil when things go wrong. We also blame God for most things too while we fail to retrace our steps and understand that we have a part to also play.

When you choose to go your way at the expense of what God wants you to do, you won't only cause problems for yourself but those around you. We saw that with the case of Jonah in the Bible. He ran from God and caused great turmoil for those in the boat until he was tossed into the sea.

Sometimes when we go astray and do things our way, God always finds a way to restore us. The moment we go back to His original plan, things would still work out for us and that's God's mercy. Behind God's seeming frown hides His smiling face. God always make a way of escape for us because He knows everyone. God preserves us because He has a plan for us. As long as you are alive, there is a plan for you. God never want us to get into hopeless situations. If you are in a hopeless situation, just know that you are in the wrong, somewhere. Find your path by going back to God. (I was wrong here because what's applicable to Jonah wasn't applicable to Job and it's wrong to judge both situations as one without understanding the peculiarity of it. Sometimes we are tested to build up strength, it doesn't necessarily have to do with what we have done wrong)

When you feel hopeless, down and rejected, the first point of contact is to look up; pray. When you fall, fall on your back because if you can look up, you can get up. It takes someone to look up to overlook what he or she is going through. Looking up means you have a positive mindset about what you are going through. Rather than tell God how big your problems are, tell your problems how big your God is.

With a positive attitude, you can approach the throne of mercy to pray. Never let your challenges make you forget how to pray. Prayer is a way you get involved in what's happening. Don't just pray one-off but pray persistently. The situation we find ourselves in life demands we get out of that pit and it takes consistency.

Pray passionately. In times of crisis that's when to pray. The time of pain is not when to play. Most people just throw in the towel when the battle gets hot but that's when to fight, that's when to strategize, that's when to trust God even more because He might lead you around but He would never lead you wrong. All things work together for Good...

Most people only focus on the problems they are faced in life without identifying what caused them. You can't find a solution to the problems without understanding the cause of the problems. Identify the cause. Work on it until you name it. You can only pray passionately on what you have a name to - what you know is the issue. Prayer requires directness and not beating around the bush. How would you not pray amiss if you don't even know what you are praying about?

Pray for specific help and pray the Word of God. Search for the Word that is peculiar to your case and declare it. When you speak it long enough, it enters into your subconscious and starts to manifest. It's just like when you are calling a child or someone...they gravitate towards the direction of where they are hearing the voice. Whatever you are calling is coming, you just have to grow in faith to accommodate it. Speak God's Word back to Him because He honours His Word more than His name. His Word will never go without achieving the purpose for which it has been sent.

Our Christian journey is all about faith. Faith in prayer, faith even in worship or gratitude to God when we have received what we asked and when we are still waiting for the manifestations of those things. Express gratitude to God for answered prayers and even the ones you are yet to receive. Gratitude is like an application for the next thing. He who can't be faithful in that which is little cannot be faithful in what's much. It's only when you express gratitude to God can you trust Him for bigger things because you can see how He came through for you and you can trust Him that He can do it again, bigger and better.

Life to me is centered around God. He is at the beginning, at the end and even at the center of it all. In Him I live, I breathe and have my being. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ because it is the power of God unto salvation. How can I claim to believe in God and not show it to those around me by the fragrance of my goodness? God is love, so let us throw kindest around like confetti.

Thank you for your time.

What a lovely and thoughtful blog sir Ola. I loved this. It's powerful enough to ease our minds and has a reflection on life.

Most people only focus on the problems they are faced in life without identifying what caused them.

This is the painful part of why people speak a lot rather than zipping their mouths and start meditating, assessing one's self and producing self-reflection. It's very important that we assess ourselves before making moves. Nothing good will happen to a man who's unprepared and unequipped.

Amazing blog sir Ola!

God bless you, my friend. I enjoyed your amazing contribution. Indeed, we need to reflect. Reflection gives us the time to assess the situation and understand the cause of so many problems. Identifying the problems help us to know how best to tackle them or what to focus on. The issue is most people sweep a lot under the carpet rather than carefully assess the situation.

Sometimes we brand some of our struggles as God's challenges when in fact it is the result of our disobedience from Him. Now we except Him to deliver us from those trials.

Exactly... We cause it and make it sound God made and still expect Him to deliver us. God is really gracious.

When i see the way people die every day i wonder why people pursue money every day without thinking about afterlife. Though money is important, there are other things we should also take serious like the relationshio we have with others and our relationship with God. Without God one's journey in this earth will just be like a snake walking through a rock. It has no impact.

Without God, nothing is impactful, no doubt. O don't know how people glide through life without thinking of eternity. It should inform our decisions even on earth but most people don't think of that.

Like I do say only God is the solution to everything. I believe of we put God first, our lives will go perfectly

God above all. When God takes the center stage, it makes everything else bearable and easier.

Feel guilty about that part that we tend to focus on the failures and problems rather than finding solutions or what caused them...sometimes, the biggest blessing is just hidden but we can't see it..

They are always hidden, Janeeeeeyyyyyy...but we focus on the issue than the blessings. I am guilty of that too, sometimes.

This is a lovely post and I agree to almost everything except one thing. Hopeless situations aren't always as a result of misplaced paths. Sometimes, God sets stones rolling to glorify his name. Just like Dreem told me, God let's somethings happen for our good. Job is a good example, so is Esther. Abraham also faced hopeless situations in terms of heir but his faith was strong. Sometimes, we go through the fire to strengthen our faith, not because we did anything wrong.

Came in through Dreemport.

This is brilliant... I absolutely agree with this. It doesn't mean we are always in the wrong...it's to test us and bring the best out of us. That is so true and thanks for this brilliant one as usual 🤗🤗🤗

Very good analysis of the subject of God's plan vs. what man can do in His own strength @olawalium, and yes, I believe he is most merciful and kind.
I would want to say one thing though, that you stated that God would honor his word more than His name, but I would state that His Word is in His Name, and they are One in His Spirit.
This post was obtained through Dreemport.

Yes, in His Word is His name. The Bible states what I quoted in Psalm 138:2. He is His Word. They are one.

Hello, @olawalium ,

Thanks for this encouraging pep-talk. You have a lot of good and helpful things to say...

However, my brother, this one thing concerns me enough to take a minute and draw it to your attention:

"God never wants us to get into hopeless situations. If you are in a hopeless situation, just know that you are in the wrong, somewhere. Find your path by going back to God."

In this one small portion of your message, you remind me of Job's friends. Job was in a more hopeless situation than any of us have ever seen, and his friends insisted that he was in the wrong. Please don't forget that, in the end, God himself vindicated Job.

And so, it might be more prudent if you were to encourage people in trouble to consider the possibility that they are in the wrong; but please don't condemn them as such without knowing the facts!

Thank you again for an encouraging read.

😄😇😉

I absolutely understand your point but Job situation was a test. I understand that we get tested sometimes which is to build up strength in us. I love this brilliant perspective from you. Thank you so much.

Beautiful Olawale❣️ I attended an online sermon on prayer this past weekend and the message was similar: that we should live our lives in prayer, have the Lord with us constantly, and talk with him wherever and whenever we need to. Make it become a way of our life. I came to your post from Dreemport !ALIVE !PIZZA
