A Last Farewell on a Beautifully Sublime Sunday
I am of the habit of starting my Beautifully Sublime Sunday posts with a shot of the lake from my balcony. I suppose it is because I love water and the view of the lake is dynamic and never the same. However today I decided to change up things and start with a view of the lake from inside the house. Of course the house is a proper wreck, but I don't fret over that because after all I am in the middle of packing to move!
BTW there is a chick on a paddle board camouflaged as a leaf. Can you see it?
The Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday tags are some of my faves! I want to thank @ace108 for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats and supporting the accounts. Also, a shout out to @c0ff33a for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
I always keep a few on hand as it is so easy and nice for nearly any meal.
I use two packs and make it according to the instructions but I also add a couple of tablespoons of Splenda. After all, corn bread should be sweet, no?
Tic, tac, toe, anyone? 😀
The Last Farewell
It was a birthday for a guy I know. He doesn't get out much, works at home, and rarely needs to leave his apartment. I decided we should give hime a final birthday party.
He requested some of my world famous mashers.
They did not disappoint and lived up to the name.
I thawed some rump roast from my local farmer buddy. I may have to drive up here in the winter to haul back a load of beef. I get it just that cheap 🙂
I find baking them a few hours at around 325F and checking the internal temp is best.
We like the inside to be nice and pink. I take them out of the net and roll them in coarse sea salt and course pepper. So good!
I made a custom chocolate on yellow cake. I added some dark chocolate into the frosting to give it a deep rich chocolate flavor that really stood out against the yellow cake.
He isnt going anywhere, but we are. This is likely the last time we will see him. When we finally leave for Virginia, I cant see ever heading back to Michigan. Ever.
Thankfully I have always tended to be on the ornery side than the sentimental side.
I just figure I'll see ya down the road again. Or perhaps not.
Well Hive Be Pumpin!
Best part of the day!!!
Wonder why, tho?
Anyone know?

Maybe you could have a meal out (by then) with your friend when you go back to pick up the beef !
.... and NO.... cornbread is not supposed to be sweet !
😝
ha ha.....
Looks like ya'll did up his birthday good and proper. With the internet, it doesn't quite have to be the end. Online friendships are REAL !
I know I hear it from all the true Southerners! Maybe this should be called Yankee bread or some such lol.
I agree online friendships are real and in many respects, better in my opinion.

Happy Birthday to the guy. You sure put in some effort to cook things up.
Thanks. I always enjoy time in the kitchen. Not a great cook, but I amuse myself lol.
You're welcome. Cooking is always the fun part. It's the after that most people dislike.
YOU'LL BE BACK!!!!! Otherwise, who will eat the beef that you order?
That is really nice of you to throw your friend a birthday party! Right down to a nice beef and mashed potato (and corn on the cob if I am not mistaken!) dinner. Topped off by the singing of song,
the drinking of boozethe eating of cake and good conversation. If he is not married and telecommutes, then I bet he is a little bit lonely unless he has relatives around. So, that is pretty nice of you. Men tend to be more loners, and women will reach out to people when they are home by themselves.Cornbread is not sweet! Where did you grow up again?
Online friendships are better? Well, don't forget to get his email! He may make a fun online friend!! I used to think that is was weird to have online friends, but, eventually, it migrated over to okay. I am not sure when that happened.
Happy Birthday to your friend!
Actually, I may never leave. They have not even hung drywall. On one hand, I would like to get out of it, but not sure what it would cost.
Cornbread should be sweet, too boring otherwise.
Online is entirely better. When one gets tired of the other friend, a simple vamoose is all it takes to drop them like a hot potato. Trust me I know. 🙂
😮 That sounds rather frigid.
You can possibly get out of it.
All those food left me hungry and craving for something to eat lol! I'm sure you'll miss that view of the lake. Good luck with the move :)
