We here in the Commonwealth of Virginia went from drought to lush green in the matter of one rain week. Which I must admit when considered by itself, that would seem to be a good thing, and it is…

However apparently there is a downside to so much of a deluge. Like the saying goes, too much of a good thing is bad.

Unfortunately I had a very large tree come down on my lake lot. Of course my Charlie Brown luck being what it always is, the tree would not totally miss the boathouse.

Oh no the tree had to take off some shingles and a good bit of fascia board. Being that the boathouse is fairly new and has never actually had a boat housed within it, that makes the reality sting all that much more. The only saving grace of the whole ordeal, is that the tree just barely missed my neighbor's boathouse.

The good news is I have insurance on the structure, but the bad news is of course there is a $1,000 deductible.

So basically there is no upside to this situation whatsoever. Yeah I still strive to find the good in life. The only good thing is this is the start of the crepe myrtle bush and tree season. We get some trees that bloom dark purple, yellow, white and green.
