A Time to Buy - For Christmas?

I feel bad for everyone that is experiencing foul weather. As you can see we have a sunny day here at the lake, and pleasantly warm for this time of year.

Happy Market Friday, yall

20220930_121010.jpg

Last week's Market Friday was all about buying some additional Halloween decorations. This week we found a few Christmas decorations to buy. I am slowly learning that the best selections are available much before the holiday season rolls around. Buy early and buy often, if you want to nap the best.

These are not very inexpensive. In fact they are top dollar in my opinion.

However they are quite well made with decent fabrics and details like the lantern.

As always a special thanks to @dswigle for making Market Friday so much fun every week!

Who can resist and nice glass snowman?

20220930_122650.jpg
The thing that the photo doesnt get across is heavy this lantern actually is! Real think metal and real thick glass so that it feels like the real thing!

Of course that quality comes at a premium price, I suppose!

I plan to fill the lantern with fun things including these colorful balls.

You get 40 of them for 10 bucks. Not horrible, I guess...

Of course I also got some regular "necessities"... My son has to have Mane and Tail lol. I know it is funny and crazy, but the joke is on me as I have to spend precious cash on this stuff. Talk about the young generation being soft lol! My mom would never have spent top dollar on this stuff. I used bar soap on my lovely locks and still do!

All of these items came from Walmart. They seem to be less willing to ship many items unless you become a Walmart Plus member. They are really pushing it hard to compete with Amazon Prime, yet they dont have the cool freebies like photo storage that I like with my Prime membership.

A few trees are starting to turn!

I buy Mane and Tail for the horses. No lie. I even get it in the tack shop and it is cheaper than at Walmart. Check it out. :) It really does make the horse's tail beautiful! If Ben starts prancing about or galloping, I encourage you to get him away from it.

All kidding aside, I use the conditioner and only use the shampoo once in a while.

You always get the pick of the litter shopping early. More choices and no sales. But, at this stage of life, how many more decorations do we need? The lantern is nice, I like it, and yes! I put little Christmas balls in everything. It is just more cheerful! I haven't even taken out the Halloween yet, but, maybe this weekend.

Thanks so much for sharing your awesome new decorations and showing off the leaves too~

I want to thank you for being a part of the #MarketFriday Challenge. I have personally found there is always so much to learn about people, where they live, and how things are done in different parts of the world. For me, reaching out across the globe and learning about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, has been such a rewarding experience. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the rituals, festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... and what is normal for us? There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. We do differ in many ways, which makes us interesting and unique, but, there are many ways in which are so much alike.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  4. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Yeah we have to buy early coz many of the stores will not restock holiday items. So one must buy early or risk missing out.

Happy Market Friday, @old-guy-photos! Wow I didn’t know there was a premium Walmart membership or that they are trying to compete with Amazon. That’s wild.

The best time to buy Christmas stuff is..... whenever you see it ! ha ha

It is true that a lot of the great items come out early and if you don't get it when you see it, it will likely not be there later.... and they won't get more in, even if they are gone before October !

I like your snowball/snowflake snowman. Pretty cute.

4 for $1.00 ornaments sounds pretty decent to me.

Mane and Tail.... I tried that once many years ago on my long thick mane but, it gave me a headache nearly immediately, so that was my two times, first and last. That has been so long ago, that who knows if it is the same as it use to be. So many things are not these days. I do like my shampoos though, I usually have 3 different ones rotating all the time.

Yikes! I wouldnt try it again ever! Must be allergic to some ingredients. I use cheap Jerkens bar soap :)

I would use a bar of soap if it was all there was, but it might be a little "drying" if I used it all the time.

Those Christmas decors look great indeed! I still don't see a lot of Christmas decors being put up unlike the previous years. Maybe they are waiting for Halloween to be over.

Happy #MarketFriday1
