An Old Guy Needs to Learn Some New Tricks on a Beautifully Sublime Sunday
Starting to put some hours on the Sony to make sure it is good to go.
I had so much I wanted to do today. There are just so many jobs I am way way behind on. I had the best of intentions...and we all know the path to Hell is paved with good intentions, amiright?!?
I did get a mini job done. I guess that counts for something.
I bought an antique looking light. I am sure it is not an antique because it was only 20 bucks. We all know the OldGuy is way to cheap to drop any serious cash on a stupid light, antique or not. The weird thing is, the top inside of the glass yellowed freakishly. It must have been left in a sunny window for ages, or it was the lack of quality control in some backroom Chinese factory, who knows, but I am sorting it with a coat of high temp white spray paint!

Back to the good intentions, I was going to paint outside, however it looked so threatening of rain outside that it would have been a fool's errand. Of course Ben was twisting my arm to go out and get some shots. Naturally I am wired as a giver and have a hard time saying "no". I know, I am just too nice of a guy! So instead of making the best of a perfect day to do some jobs, I merrily trapsed off for too many hours instead of doing what I needed to do. 😔
So I am learning (after the fact) about these full frame sensor cameras. The depth of field is thin even in not so fast glass like the kit lens. It hit the focus on the foreground fine, but was not wide enough to catch the entire group. I need to take the time to stop down the aperture where as my m4/3 lens would have got it all.
Oh well it gives me a good excuse to get out and walking to take some new photos and learn some new tricks!
