Frozen Toes on a Tree Tuesday

Japanese Maple leaf catching some of the very rare sunlight here in Michigan.

Oh how we suffer for our art!

When there is a brief period of sunshine, especially in the winter months here in Michigan, you better grab it fast coz it sure wont last!

The weathered sumac looked nice in the field of browns.

We were cursed with yet another blanket of white, so I had to schlep out with a shovel in tow and commence to make getting down the driveway less life threatening. The key word here being less. It is still risky business making it down the slope in one piece, but your chances are a bit better than before my exertion blazed a slightly less slippery path.

The bird bath confirms a good 2 to 3 inches I would say. I hate to ever over exaggerate!

Funny using the Panasonic macro lens makes this thin branch look nearly like a tree trunk lol. Bokeh balls and sunrays are a bonus.

Interestingly if you look close at the outline of the leaf, you will see it ever so slightly
indented the snow :)

Seemed like just yesterday, these flowers were fresh and white and so full of life...

I wish you all a great Tree Tuesday! I am going to get in and try to thaw my fingers and toes now :)

Love the one with frost. You can clearly see the depth of everything in the background.

I think the first shot of the sumac is my favorite! It is that whole beauty in the demise of things, so stunning, in a whole different way.

Even though winter may not be what you love, it does have such a blanket of loveliness thrown over the landscape. Stay safe out there!

Denise, you love the friggin' snow because you're an elf ... and, unlike you, most people don't get the opportunity to ride in Santa's sleigh.

Poor Ol' Guy, every time I turn around he's been snowed in. I used to think he was just whining but he has the pics to prove it.

All I can say is that it's a good thing that Valley Forge wasn't in Michigan. Washington and his boys wouldn't have stood a chance.

Well I am certainly not above a good whine now and again lol. I think it tends to be good for the soul! Get all that regret and bitterness out 😁

Whine or wine?

I know I've had great luck with Merlot. 😉

Yep indeed it is the whole circle of life that can make for a decent shot.

I do confess the snow is pretty. I think VA will have just the right amount.

Why is it that every time I check in with you, you're under a pile of snow?

And, I thought you were moving south.

Anyway, as always, great pics.

Hey good to see ya Quill!

I am moving south, just not as south as you. I am going to split the difference and head down to Virginia. I bought a lot on Smith Mountain Lake and and slowly making the move :)

So, you're moving south ... but up in elevation?

Ol' Guy, that's still a formula for ...snow!!! 😂

Yes! It is a valid point! I like to have four seasons, just less of winter and perhaps a bit more Spring and Fall. Winter tends to help keep some of the nasty critters at bay!

Great close-ups showing detail one doesn't normally stop for in the cold. Also, the quality of the light and shadow has a warmth to it despite the cold climate. What part of Michigan?

The snow has arrived and a little ice too. I must agree with @dswigle the sumac looks wonderful and of course I don't know the name to this one haha

Less life threatening on snow removal. As long as the snow isn't wet. In this case you will get a huge workout and I find this is the worst type. Heart attack weather as I'm always told.

I noticed the indentation of your leaf and was surprised to see this. Almost looks like it embedded itself.

A wonderful tree Tuesday with a little expected or unexpected snow. Don't worry you'll get your fill soon enough

Yes that is a very good point about heart attack weather. Lost a neighbor a few years back to shoveling the wet stuff.

Yesterday we had a light snowfall and freezing cold has started already. I can see that the snow has arrived at your place before us. The photos are beautiful, especially I love the frozen berry one.
