Hive and Other Cut Flowers
That sure is a nice flower. It was given to me by my neighbor. Kind of an early goodbye gift, I suppose. I enjoy looking at cut flowers as most people do. However, a saying my dad used to say usually comes to mind: "New brooms sweep clean, but they don't stay new long".
While that pertains to brooms, I think it can be true for cut flowers. In fact the only thing wrong with cut flowers is that they don't stay pretty for long.
Before all too long, the leaves begin to dry and the petals start to drop.
Sadly this whole not staying nice for long deal is reminding me of Hive. Well Hive the token at least. Every so often, seemingly like clockwork, we get a Hive pump, inevitably followed by a Hive dump. Foolishly in the early days, I would get caught up in the moment and think wow this is really happening...only to watch reality creep back in as we started to nose dive once again...
I will admit, it sure is fun to see it pump. It is even more fun to dream that perhaps one day it will hold the gains. I don't seriously believe that Hive is headed for world domination. It doesn't seem likely that Hive will flip Facebook any time soon. I mean to put it in context, I believe Steem/Hive and TikToc started at about the same time...
Yet that is not to say Hive cannot continue to be the fun blogging site that pays a little bonus for writing your blogs and sharing some pics. I know I still enjoy seeing all my pals on here. "Wen moon?" may not be anytime soon, but in the meantime, I plan to just keep keeping on. So far it has been a great ride. I bet it only will get better from here.

Who could resist such a beautiful post? I guess I don't think of it that way. I have so many flowers in the gardens, if I don't cut some every couple of days, they go to waste in the garden, crowding each other.
I have vases of flowers all over the house. I enjoy seeing them and decorating my dinner table (and coffee table) with them. Them make me smile. I have to admit, I compost them before they get too bad.

Oh I am not against cut flowers. I was just trying to equate Hive's quickly faded pumps with that of a cut flower's soon to be faded glory.
