Mourning in Michigan on a Monochrome Monday
(Edited)
So many questions and so many "what if's". So many lives permanently altered. Even to have lived through it, I doubt one would ever be the same.
Not that there is a better time ever, but I cannot even imagine what it must be like when tragedy strikes so close to the holidays.
Just one more example of how things have changed in our world. I remember being in high school and never had the fear of someone shooting it up.
Nowadays we hear about such crimes all too often in the media, but when it happens so close to home, it really hits the community hard.
Let there be hope for their souls. Gone too soon.

I was just actually trying to finish a #monochromemonday post when I found yours in search. So I wanted to hop in real quick, and say hello... I hadn't visited in some time but wanted to help elevate the positive energy, and prayers, to all those who have been touched by this terrible tragedy. I agree with what you said in your post:
Isn't that the truth! I can remember many things; what to do when I got home from school... would I pass that test tomorrow... did Jenny really like me. But not a concern if I would lose my life or a friend's life before the day was over. Perhaps I feel so strongly because I am a Dad. Or maybe because I am a grandparent. But... more than that, because things are already in such a negative state of affairs in the world. I can only hope everyone knows how much they are loved, and how deeply we are all touched... especially at this time of year. Hope you are still treading water brother! Much love being sent your way!

Thanks much for that heart-felt comment. You summed it up perfectly. I got to say I really feel bad for the young folks coming up in this mess.
Much love back at you! I know this world needs more of it...
😪
This is so sad. They will always remember. Death near holidays is worse sometimes, but being around other family and honoring traditions can also bring much needed healing.
Indeed you are right. On a happy note I heard that all but one of those injured in the shooting have been released from the hospital now. Hopefully the healing will continue for them all.
I hadn't heard that. I am glad to hear that. Hallelujah!
I'm so heart sick over this! It really could have been prevented! What were those parents thinking?? Clearly their son should not have been given a gun and why didn't someone check his backpack! Why didn't they take him out of school that day? Sigh...
Yeah there are so many unanswered questions. I cannot believe the parents refused to take him home because they "had" to work. Come on. It seems there were so many points where it could have been stopped...
Yeah I think every school in America will have to set up metal detectors at the entrance just like the airports have.
I don't have grandchildren, but I'm sure if I did, I wouldn't want them in public schools, due to all of these random school shootings...
It's pathetic what is happening in the high school, I can't even imagine how tragic a situation that can be. Schools are not safe at all. My parents used to think schools are a safe place after home. Feeling very sad hearing the news... :( I can only imagine how the entire family is feeling after losing their child...
