Plotting a Murder

Well Happy Tree Tuesday, y'all!

The title, if you happened to read it, is not clickbait. I hate to admit it, but I have already chosen a victim. It actually is a kind of creepy feeling to know that the soon to be victim is not at all aware of their impending fate. As far as they know, it is just another day of life that will end like all of their previous days. But I know better.

IMG_1277.JPG

I never like the thought of killing. Some people that commit murder probably are not bothered by it. Hell, some most likely enjoy it in a sadistic sense. However, I get no pleasure from killing. This is a premeditated murder, that from my perspective, has to be done. I am sure there are those that will say there has to be a better way. In fact I think they may have been other options. However at the end of the day, this murder is more convenient for me. It benefits me, and I guess that is all I care about. Basically it is like a business decision. Not emotional, just what I want to happen.

IMG_1330.JPG

You see there are many bees in my tree. Not bees actually, but yellowjacket to be more specific. Yellowjackets can sting more than once unlike a common honeybee, and are basically just plain ornery.

I didn't want to kill the tree, so I first tried to bait the wasps into traps...
IMG_1283.JPG

Yellowjackets were going between the brick and the vinyl to a nest. We coated the entrance with a copious amount of poisonous dust.
IMG_1343.JPG

There were some trying to move into my territory, and we wasted them all. Now they were all over my tree. Apparently aphids eat the green leaves, and poop out sugar excrement commonly referred to as honeydew lol.

The wasps were all over the leaves of the oak just as if it were a flower!!! Nearly every leaf would have a wasp or three!
IMG_1309.JPG

So the wasps were a nuisance in the young oak tree. However, I was not out to only kill the wasps. Oh no, my heart had become cold and barren of emotion. I wanted the young oak tree dead because it blocked my view of the lake. It had to be murdered!

IMG_1337.JPG

The crime scene was brutal. There was parts of the victim everywhere.

IMG_1339.JPG

This is where the victim was cut down where he stood for the past few years...never having an inkling that it was the day of his end. As Michael Jackson would say

Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night...
Gone too soon.

IMG_1338.JPG

It was a sad day, but after all, my view is much better.

You would kill for a view? Oh, what a cold, cold heart~ Devoid of emotion, clearly. Killing one of God's little creatures.

I hope you can sleep tonight.

Great view by the way. :)

It did honestly pain me to kill it. I am a tree hugger, but between the wasps and the view, it had to be done. 😑

Kill two birds with one stone or something along the lines of that saying! Yellow jackets are nasty shits, that for sure. Their stings hurt like hell then the stung area itches like crazy! @old-guy-photos 🐝❌🐝

Want to hear something funny? I thought your post was going to be about killing moles. Our yard has been invaded by them for a few years now. With the husky we don't use harsh chemicals and the moles continue to win!

I wonder if you can use those mole traps with the husky or would she interfere with them?

Yellowjackets and wasps are just nasty pieces of work... some of the more aggressive variants seem to get mad for no reason other than "they can."

That second shot reminds me of a red hornet... we had those when I lived in Texas. Nasty disposition and uber-painful sting.

I can't say as how I blame you for resorting to murder! We're actually doing a bit of murdering here, too... too many roots approaching our septic field. You gotta do what you gotta do!

LOL

And regarding the chainsaw: your actions are proof positive that it is not only Texans that have a way with the chainsaw!

That is true, but a true Texan would never use a cordless chainsaw like my baby Ryobi. They are gas chainsaws all the way lol!
