Scary Daze
Happy Market Friday
Meet the newest addition to our family! Sorry he seems to be a bit shy and is always in this box!
There that is better. I helped him to a seat.
Oh look at that. I do believe he is a fan of Minnie Pearl's. Sure enough, he is proudly wearing his tag too!
For all of you youngins that have no idea of who Minnie Pearl is, her famous schtick was wearing a hat with the price tag still hanging from it.
"Slim" as we like to call Mr Skeleton, is a real piece of work. Some might claim he has a screw lose...
Personally, I dont know about all of that, but I do believe we need to work on putting a few pounds on that guy!
I mean I hung him on a door, just like the big kids would do to the little kids in school.
Well the main thing is, Slim didnt mind at all. In fact he was a real good sport about it!
As always a special thanks to @dswigle for making Market Friday so much fun every week!
Well it was a quiet week here around the lake. Some of the early birds are bringing in their docks and getting a jump start on winterizing the boats.
Down at the local market, much like everywhere, they are loading up the shelves full of candy.
And of course the obligatory Halloween decorations!
I like to see some of the pie pumpkins come in.
Since I am a week off the Dew, I thought I would splurge and get me a jug for my iced tea. I can make up a batch and put it in here and leave it in the fridge till I want some. Easy peasy. Six bucks and made in the USA, I didn't even try to find it cheaper.
Getting off the Dew sure means there is less bags to bring in. I was going through a 2 liter a day, so I used to buy a load of it!
I don't know if this is Covid related or what, but seems like we are not back to 100% even yet.
I never saw a fewer supply of cucumbers to chose from!

I like slim. I'm thinking he is going to be a lot of fun.
It's still plenty warm here, but the dimmer light in the mornings when I get up and it getting darker a little earlier in the evenings is pulling me towards fall'ish thoughts on decor and food.
I have been getting my groceries delivered for so long, I don't know what the inside of a grocery store looks like. I do know that not everything is available, because sometimes my order is missing a thing or two, which they acknowledge and will substitute if I say it is ok.
Halloween has lost some of it's pizzaz for me since there is no trick or treats. That use to be the funnest thing when I was growing up, but then we knew our neighbors for blocks around and more neighborhoods were kid safe. I even liked handing out candy after I grew up and decorating to make it more fun for whoever came to the door. I know things change and that is the way of it, but it's too bad.
Slim is a hoot! Have you had him long or is he a recent addition? I think I am accumulating more Halloween than when the kids were little. Truth be told, they bring home some of the spookier things. Flying bats, and things that make me scream at the sight. I still decorate for Halloween too and it is pretty fun. To be fair, the neighborhood is insulated somewhat. We do the food and bbq on Halloween night. The neighbors get together and we hand out candy in a group. It looks like you are all ready for Halloween. Do you get kids on your street? They actually had trick-or-treated last year. It kind of surprised me.
It looks like the stores expect a good turnout for trick-or-treaters, either that or they made too much candy. I haven't heard anything yet and even last year, they didn't say anything and let people do what they felt was right.
It is always good to see you putting out a post for it. Thank you for supporting #MarketFriday! It has always been interesting to walk through a post and get a view of another part of our world. Seriously, isn't it interesting to do that? I have read all of the posts, and it is always a pleasure, and most of you know I had something unexpected this week, taking me out of town, so I am late to the comments, which I apologize for. My apologies and it is not a habit as I know everyone works hard to put together great posts. I had wonderful posts this week! I hope that you took the time to go around and check a few out. It makes a better community when the interaction is genuine! Thank you! It helps me out when I am not the only comment on a post. :)
Thank you so much! It is very appreciated!

Slim is brand new. I have a few more goodies coming. Seems like I will never go South, so why not?
We dont get kids here as most of the folks will have vacated to warmer climes. Seems more like Halloween is more of an adult holiday nowadays.
You will probably be there next month.
I forgot about your people abandoning the neighborhood after the summer is officially over. We still get tons of kids and a block party to boot. Sort of, more like a part of our street. Be happy, I buy over 20 big bags of candy and we all make food. It is fun and our last hurrah before the holidays.
You are right. We have the party, not the kids. :) But, we do hand out candy!
