Spooks and Spending on Market Friday

So I had to wait for a prescription at the hospital pharmacy and sure enough they had some really cute Halloween decorations!

Who would have known?
That the popularity of a gnome,
Would have so greatly grown.?!?

And yet, here they are! Taking up some valuable real estate on the shelves awaiting sale.

I like to thank @dswigle for running the Market Friday tag with such energy and investing so much time to make it a fun challenge every week

It is a little hard to make out from all the fake snow, but it seems that deer getting revenge on the hunter is a popular theme this year!

Oh the saying "If the shoe fits..." comes to mind LOL 🤣

20211019_143435.jpg

They had some kind of different items...

For those that feel like they want to fling some poopies lol.
20211019_143651.jpg

There were some more normal Fall items as well.

Of course the OldGuy is way too cheap to buy any of that noise. However, I did buy Ben some shoes.

He has been walking everyday and finally wore out his Nikes.

These were not cheap as far as I am concerned. I mean anything more than my $15 Walmart Starter brand is way too much. However, I am happy to report the Skechers are cheaper than the Adidas he really wanted.

So after he cried about not getting his Adidas, I was going to buy him this from the shop...

Did the sign convince him?

Will the price difference pay enough to put up with all the crying ?

Sometimes peace is worth a few bucks....LOL !

I know that you are joking, but if I would have "a few bucks" at the end of every month, then I would certainly be at peace. At least I do not have to choose between paying rent/bills and buying food in this winter, thanks to the help from various Hive users.

I mean anything more than my $15 Walmart Starter brand is way too much.

We (in Hungary) do not have Walmart, but as someone, who lives with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage, I absolutely/completely agree with you.

Just for the record:
The local minimum wage is approximately $550 USD per month.
My total monthly income is approximately $470 USD.
If I would not work in a 4 hours per day part time job, then my total income would be only approximately $250 USD per month. That is my pension-like income nowadays. Financial discrimination at its best.

Greetings from Hungary.

Do they have some deals on tennis shoes?

I took a quick look. The tennis shoes prices are hilariously high. There is a 22% discount on Nike COURT VAPOR LITE CLAY. It is discounted from 25 690 HUF (currently $82.34 USD) to 19 990 HUF (currently $64.07 USD) ($1 USD is currently 312.01 HUF).

5700 HUF (currently $18.27 USD) saving. I usually buy Chinese shoes for less than the half of this saving amount.

Seriously. Who will buy this? This is probably expensive even in the USA.

I love the expression on that plaque &mdash Sometimes it ends up different and it’s better that way. I may adopt that as the new motto fir my life!

Glad Ben got some different but also awesome shoes.

I thought it was a good one. Sometimes we think something is going to just be the end of the world, but in a while it seems ok or even good.

The toilet toss. What will they think of next? I'd like to be in the pitch meeting for that product.

Some guy walks in with what looks like breast implants and a toilet seat. All the executives start looking at each other in disbelief, here we go folks haha

That job he works in between school and all that walking should have adjusted the payout for the ones he wanted. If he spent it all on a camera or a bike or whatever, well, his priorities are scattered. If you pay for everything, well, you already did what you wanted.

Is he still crying? It is four days ago.

Those Sketchers are not walking shoes. Just saying. They are not for the exercise kind of walking that he does, hiking and such. I have been excising for years and have never seen that style out there. I am not actually sure if they have enough support without the lace-up? I guess I might be quiet, I am nowhere near an expert.

I hope whoever needed the prescription feels better and the shop with the cup in it, wow! Very pretty. I'm a sucker for pretty things to drink my coffee out of. The poopy thing? Who would buy one of those? (You can put your hand down now.... Tsk Tsk) Thanks so much for being part of #MarketFriday. Can you tell I am so far behind!??

#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
    5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  5. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  6. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!
