The Gloaming - The Last Bit of a Sublimely Beautiful Sunday
Welcome To My Sublimely Beautiful Sunday!
Well my sublimely beautiful Sunday got off to a late start. Of course I had the best of intentions, as I always do, yet life has a way of always taking precedence over my best intentions. Yes, just as it should, I suppose.
I felt much like Eeyore with the rain cloud following him around. So look at the pic, why is the sun right over there and not over me??? Perhaps it was the pre-eclipse?!? 🤣
The Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday tags are some of my faves! I want to thank @ace108 for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats and supporting the accounts. Also, a shout out to @c0ff33a for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
All day we had beautiful blue skies and plenty of sunshine, so I was somewhat disappointed to see the sun was beginning to fade before I was able to start my hike.
So today I decided to try out the Grassy Hill park. I was already beginning to lose my light, so I knew I needed to get somewhere quickly, and Grassy Hill would fit the bill.
An old oak is trying to keep a few of his dead leaves back...perhaps till the new ones form?
As you can see from the photograph, the trail is clearly marked. However the elevation of the hill is 1600 ft so I knew I did not have time to make the summit. I certainly did not want to be tripping on all those ankle breaking roots and stones that make up 98% of the trail!!! 😋
Some of the trees on the trail had such beautiful bark.
Although I didn't get too close because I felt there's a good chance that some critter was living in there, some of the trees appear to be nothing more than hollowed out dead logs, which provided many a meal for the woodpeckers and such.
Strangely enough some of the trees even had their own hieroglyphics!!!
As my time was growing short and the Sun had nearly made its descent, I found this gem. I think of it as yesterday's leaves, and today's. If you look close, it looks like the Vine took a hold of the old leaf and refused to let it go.
I hope you all have a good week ahead!!!

That looks like a nice serene place to walk and a good way to end a pleasant day.
I hope to make it too the top some day. I think I will have to build up to it though.
Looks like a nice trail but not much springing to life yet.
That tree with the beautiful bark is really something.
