Weekend experience//Initiating new goals//@oli1965

Hello dear Weekend Experience community. I hope you are well. Today I want to tell you my experience started this week in which I decided to put into practice my profession as an educator in my country Venezuela which is somewhat hit by inflation and that our teachers are in an indefinite strike requesting their fair labor demands.

Mathias

I have a degree in Preschool Education, I love this profession, so I decided in the midst of this indefinite strike of educators to give classes to children who need individualized attention, that's what we call in my country directed tasks because mothers have them at home doing nothing, some go out to work and have no one to take care of them.

Andrés

I tell you this as something wonderful for me because I had not been teaching for a long time and it has cost me a little bit to update myself. Children are truly exceptional beings and they learn quickly. For now I started with two children, but they are not preschoolers, they are in elementary school, so the older they are, the more demanding they are.

It has been a rewarding experience for me since I received a child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), it is a challenge because teaching him is not the same as teaching a normal child because they are different neurological conditions. But it has been an experience that has been innovative for me to begin with. Andres is a special but wonderful child and even though I am a teacher I feel that I learn with him.

His parents have put their trust in me, I don't think I will let him down, when you like something you do it with passion. Mathias is another child I teach and he is totally different from Andres but they get along well, both are in 3rd grade of elementary school but they learn at different neurological and cognitive times. So I am happy to start this teaching and learning process this weekend, where as an educator I feel pleasantly pleased to be able to teach what I once studied to be of help.
