Have a wonderful day hivers!

The pandemic still the reason why we are barred on going to the main fish market where I was going every Friday. Before, it was my routine, a source of my sideline selling fish. But now no more. I couldn't go to another place.

I miss sharing something interesting topic for the #marketfriday initiative of @dswigle. I decided to visit my gallery looking for my market escapade before the pandemic.

Fresh fishes from the Red Sea of Jizan, K.S.A.

My workplace is 30 minutes' drive going to the main city of this province. It is along the seashore where the fish market is located.

Every Friday is the official fish market day. We could also find some other merchandise and livestock too. The location of the fish market is also surrounded by malls and some grocery and international stores.

This is the place where people from different countries around the world come buying fresh fish.

The salesman and owner of the fish were selling g their fish on a wholesale basis and it was not based on per kilo.

Some other people were selling it by the box.

He was our friend who extended his effort in cleaning the fish and we paid his labor.

I took this picture of the hammerhead shark but I didn't buy it. I never eat this kind of fish.

I think these are also kind of whale or shark. I don't know if I'm wrong. I just found it now in my gallery.

The red fishes are called Maya-Maya in Filipino.

Mackerel were being sold by the box and retailed by per kilo. And I was one of the retailers and brought it house to house.

Shrimps and prawns were sold per kilo also.

The tiny red squids were favourite and it has been six months that I never had it.

*These white squids were expensive compare to the red or pink squids. The taste after cooking has also different but it was still delicious.

In this fish market, we could have a chance for bargaining the price and buy at the lower value. It depends upon how you made it talking with the fish owner. How many years I had been doing it and I really gained a lot.

But today, I don't know how it goes? And how the flow of the marketing after the 15% tax imposed by the governments. I have it in my mine sooner, I mist go there again.

I hope the pandemic will gone so I could start again my every Friday market.

Additional Information

The aquatic resources of the Red sea are too rich. The government is caring for its welfare. They imposed 6 months off to the sea season. There are fish sanctuary that no one could touch it or no fishing for 6 months. They have also valuables pearls on their ocean. Sea shells are just scattering on the sea shore and only Filipinos aee picking it up.

This is my throwback fish #marketfriday. Thank you @dswigle for your awesome initiative.

All pictures are mine.

The sea is calling us, @olivia08! I just know it is!

Those hummer sharks we call Hammerheads. It looks like a hammer's head. :)) Anyway, they are very tasty! However, because sharks are high up near the top of the food chain, this means that there is mercury in their flesh. So, I pass.

That is a good deal, selling the fish for a side job. I am sure this is a good supplemental income. I am glad your employer doesn't mind. Seems like a nice person to work for.

There really is an abundance from the Red Sea! Such a rich environment. I had no idea they had pearls too, although, why not? I am envious just looking at your beautiful fish!! Which kind is your favorite kind of fish?? I enjoyed your post very much! There have been some really interesting ways that #MarketFriday has been presented, all of which adds all the more charm to the mixing bowl. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. I love the experience of it all. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. Thank you so much again @dswigle. Thank you for the correction, yes it is a hammerhead, that I really meant to say, I always wanted #marketfriday a special post that contains special information. I want something different from the day I joined here. The pandemic stopped me in everything like what I did before. I hope that I could go out again without fear of the situation.

My favorite fish is tuna. And I don't eat hammerhead fish. Again, thank you @dswigle. How's your day now? Are you in a cruise ship again?

Have a nice day ahead.

These are called shovelnose sharks. The other name is guitar sharks because of their shape. :))
