Why December 13th Is A Special Day For Me?

Everyday is a special day most especially when you sleep and woke up in the morning without heavy burden in our heart. When we woke up with positive mindset facing for the day. The birthday of my two siblings falls in December 2, the youngest 34 years old and December 18, to my first sister, 46 years old. My paternal grandmother birthday is today December 13 but she is already in heaven.

She is my beautiful lola nanay Lucia, had a Spanish blood from her father. She had a fair complexion, smiling eyes and beautiful face. She died blind after 9 years of being bed ridden. The caused of her blindness was the evaporation of the food she cooked and sold in our baranggay. Doctor said, she must stop cooking but she don't want to rely her daily needs from us. My father was the one taking care in our house where she lived with my parent. Being the eldest granddaughter, I was the one who support her food, quacker oat and diapers

My Maternal Grandmother

At this moment, she is fighting for her life. She is a God fearing lola to us. I am also her eldest granddaughter. It is so hurt for me that she is now in that situation. Yes, she is running 97 years old but pneumonia stucked her healthy life. The doctor said the virus is already on her brain and only God knows to give her chances to live.

She is now fighting for life. I am sleepless in two days. I remember 3 of my most important people in my life had gone without me in the Philippunes since I am working abroad. So sad bit this is the reality. I want to go home but I have no enough money to spent but the money I will use for going there will be used in hospitalization.

She is a baby face old woman. She used bergen lotion until now and jergen soap for bathing. She cooks her foods and sweep her garden. Her house is surrounded with many kind of plants, flowers and vegetable.

My grandmother lost my grandfather when she was at his 50s. She told me that there was someone younger than her of 14 years wanted to marry her but she was awkward to marriage again. I think , she just only told me about it. We are so close to each other and we shared secret. We both laughed every night I slept in her side during my vacation.
