Death is very painful most especially when you lost your loved one. The Bible teaches that death entered the world because of sin. Since the time of Adam and Eve, humanity has lived in a fallen world where sickness, suffering, and death exist. Long life in the Bible is often connected to God’s blessings, but it does not mean that people will live forever on earth.

God’s promise of long life also does not mean a life without challenges or hardships. Some believers of God died at early age while some lived long. What matters most to God is not only the number of years a person lives, but how that person lives in obedience, faith, and love. A short life lived for God can still have great purpose and meaning.

We should know that the bible teaches us that our life here on earth is temporary. No matter how long someone lives, earthly life will eventually end. God’s greater promise is eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. For believers, physical death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal fellowship with God.
