Dreeming into Creatives

I wrote my first story on Hive about two years ago. It's something that would surprise some people—Olujay writing stories—because you'd never find such on my blog, as that ship never sailed after that story. In my early days here, however, I was exploring different things, but I was only spurred to write a story because my friends were doing something very fascinating at that time, and so their energy drew me in.

All my Dreemer friends have been making me feel like I have been committing some crime by not joining the challenges Dreemport has been dishing out. It all started with the Dreemport challenges a while back, followed by the Ecency + Dreemport crusade. Now I am seeing ice-cream and chocolate bars everywhere, and I am like, "Oh no, they are at it again." They are having fun again!

And that's how I started with my first entry into a Dreemport challenge with Hands up if you love bananas, and also how I met Dreem because she had never seen a man love bananas so romantically before. I didn't even know what I was doing. I just knew that my people knew what they were doing, so I just tagged along. Fast forward to this moment; there has been tremendous change in the person I am on Hive ever since, and Dreemport has been a part of it.

It often starts with the endearing personalities you'll find, the welcoming staff members you'll come across, and the incredible visionary herself that we all learn from, Dreem! Actually, we'd usually find you first, and then you'd come to realise what a beauty of a home Dreemport is.

To keep the family together, there have to be certain activities—rituals, traditions, and routines—that keep the family together. Over at Dreemport, we have things like monthly challenges, PYPT by Shadows, and more. And this month's challenge is something a bit different. To be honest, all challenges are uniquely different from themselves. This one takes us on a joy ride to someplace..hmmm...rejuvenating, Creative Work Hour [CWH].

CWH is essentially a space where you get to work for an hour creatively. Quite obvious, I know, right? Well, it's a little more than just that. It's a lot more, rather. Pardon me.

Consider CWH a space where you're not alone and you get to work with other people invested in their productivity, where there is this centeredness you can feel because of the aura in that space. It's a virtual room that connects people together and brings them something they often long for to create, deliver, and achieve—"grounding."

We all need to shake off that inhibition to work sometimes, some external ginger and morale, and some level of accountability. And CWH, to me at least, gives me that. And the cherry on top of all that is the voice of Alessandra, the Artistic Director or CWH, charging us all along with her brilliant smile, perpetual energy, and welcoming personality. You'd be surprised at how much can be achieved in an hour with "the right energy."

The Dreemport challenge for February is to make a "pin-worthy" post. Something that would have a lot more than we'd normally put into our regular posts—not by length but by depth. And Alessandra la Connosieur is leading us through it with Design Thinking in CWH.

I had actually been a part of CWH for a few months before this challenge. It runs every day, even during the holidays, and I show up whenever I can. And every time I did, I always knew why I came back around. To learn that there was going to be a collaboration had me stoked about what was to come.

CWH sessions are held on Zoom at 3 p.m. UTC. For this challenge, a new session was created, runs one hour after the usual one ends (5 p.m. UTC), and holds on Discord instead. Dreemers are more familiar with Discord.

Both environments being home to me, Dreemport and CWH, it has been really exciting seeing the turnouts. I see normies from CWH finding their way to Dreemport and thriving on the portal and Discord. And I see Dreemers becoming "Creatives," going with the flow, and feeling blessed by the sessions like I do.

For my Dreemport challenge entry as a pin-worth post, I am developing something that will speak volume about me—something that will allow people to understand my essence, my passions, and my vision, as well as the value they can get from the humble individual—a Grandoise Imprint. It's underway and will be released next week.

Until next time, I'll be at Creative Work Hour as often as I can, learning, feeling grounded, and working with other invested people to continue the niche that is "Jay's Creating."

Oh, thank you, Dreem. I tried to reflect my feelings about both spaces as best as I could. I'm glad you really liked it.

You know, you're the reason I remember that yesterday was my Hive Birthday. I totally forgot as I relied on @hivebuzz to remind me as usual. Thank you very much! 😁🎉

It's always a bliss being a part of Dreemport. And I am excited for this month, too.
