Money Scarcity : A Short Phase Of Unforgettable Suffer

Hello hivers.
I am happy to announce that, money scarcity and buying of money is now an old story in my country.
Not only did that stop, transactions like transfer is going smoothly now without having network issues.

How did the scarcity start?

My country recently changed large used amount of money i.e #200,#500 and #1000.
Without printing these currency in notable amount, they immediately stopped the use of the old currency.
Causing havoc in the country, the little amount of the new currency they printed was just in circulation.
It made one has to pay more to get this said money.
The idea of doing transfer came i.e cashless policy, it didn't go well as well.
Because the bank failed, owing to network issues and delay in transactions.
All these things was going on for weeks to about a month plus.
The general elections was also happening at the same time.

How the scarcity stopped

People started demanding for the use of the old currency since the new one is no where to be found.
An agreement to use only the old #200 came, this didn't go far, it didn't meet people needs.
It was as if nothing changed.
Demand increased.... Let's continue to use the old naira!
Court order came in agreement to use the old naira notes.
But some people refused to accept using the old naira notes because the CBN (central bank of Nigeria) governor and the President of Nigeria said nothing about it.
Some people where scared and confused.
Because this same people forced and made them struggle to deposit the old naira notes.
So, they wouldn't want a repeat of that without getting their approval.

After some days of silence from the president and CBN governor, they agree and encouraged people to use the old naira notes.

Currently the banks ATM dispense old naira notes, people freely use them now.

The shocking fact is, this said old naira notes are newly painted though their are old ones.
Why make people to suffer and go through all those stress for months?
Why allow people die before doing something?

God have mercy.
We continue to pray for better days and for evil to be far from us.

What a distressing situation, i'm glad it seems resolved for now. Governments are supposed to meet the needs of the people based on the people's preference, not try to control or influence the behavior of the people. But illegitimate authority always needs to control the behavior of those (whom they consider under them) to keep their power.

If the people feel more secure making cash transactions, that's how it should be! Even crypto, if the people desire to exchange crypto for cash naira (old or new) so long as it has buying power, it should be allowed and supported by the government.

Truly God will have mercies on Us. I can't understand how the Politicians can makes life unbearable by their policies. I lost a lot of money during this phase and its biting me seriously

I'm glad that the situation has improved. All of us worldwide need to take our power back and create our own parallel systems that go around the one that obviously doesn't have people's best interests in mind. The situation is really confusing. After all, it was possible to withdraw the old bills from circulation gradually, within a few years after the printing of new ones...

I hope you can deal with your government soon!
