The weekend activities in the Village. Weekend Engagement (WK 187).

This is my first time in this community and I am just 6 days old on Hive. I found this prompt and decided to join in and I am choosing the third option. The weekend is tomorrow and in my place, we take this time to clean our house, take care of the surroundings, do other necessary things and if there is still more chance, we can do something good for ourselves and most importantly, take enough rest. I am a student at the university and still in the village. School will be resuming soon which means I will be travelling with my brother back to school on Monday.

I thought of what to do for the weekend aside from washing my dirty clothes to make them neat before packing them into my bag. This would be the last day to wash and arrange my stuff for my trip back to school.

My clothes aren't much but I helped my sister @princessbusayo to wash the bedspreads, she travelled back to her place today and needed to put back the bedspreads in its rightful place, she had to plead with me to help her. It took me more than an hour to wash my clothes as I was being called incessantly to go on errands. It was just like multitasking which I do not like but as it is now, I don't have a choice. I love to finish a task before moving next to another one. After I was done washing the clothes, I moved to the store which was the next thing on my agenda for the weekend.

This is a big store where we keep foodstuffs and other things like gardening tools while we lock it up every night before going to sleep to avoid thieves from entering and taking what does not belong to them. Foodstuffs like yam, potatoes, cassava flakes, yam flour, beans, rice, etc and local pots just like these.

The store was so dirty and I decided to clean the place while arranging things in the right place. I started by arranging the yams and potatoes, placing them on one side by the corner of the store, I washed the dirty pots and dried them outside before putting them back where they belonged. I also sorted the foodstuffs and arranged them neatly in a big aluminium pot just as in the image above, then after I was done, I did the final part which was sweeping and everywhere looked neat with a lot of free space for other things to be kept there.

I was glad to do those things on a weekend to ease the stress for my dad and cousin who would be left behind when others have gone. The last thing I did was sweep part of the compound. It's a large compound and it's not easy for one person to sweep it alone; we are usually 2 persons and each one would take a portion and sweep till we are done.

This time around, the compound was already looking neat but some parts were littered with goats' poo and nylons which a strong breeze blew past our house. I even thought it would rain as the cloud was dark but after a few minutes, the sky was looking bright and there was the sun that shone brightly at us making us feel calm that the day would be shining and the clothes spread on the wire would get dried easily. Besides, it's not the rainy season yet.

After I was done with all these activities, I took my bath, ate my food and took a long rest.
