Many times I start to think about why, since the world is such a vast place, I ended up in Chile, the country along with Argentina that is the furthest south on the continent.

Before I did not know anything about this country and I had only heard from some Chilean friends that I had met in my beloved Maracaibo and we were good co-workers, however, I had never imagined that at some point in my life, I would live in another country that was not mine: Venezuela.

I live in an agricultural city, where the climate is so strange for me since I come from hot land, in the west of Venezuela and on the shores of Lake Maracaibo and seeing me now in a place where it can be hot in the early morning and before dawn, the temperature reaches -4° is definitely something out of the ordinary, at least for me.

The truth is that, as I am passionate about macro photography, mainly of flowers and insects, that morning I went out to realize that this has been the coldest frost in the 4 years I have lived in this country, reaching -7.3° and I immediately took my phone and well, you will see for yourselves what I could see with my eyes.

When I took the photos with my phone, I couldn't have my gloves on, so when my hands were already burning from the cold, I would go into the house and bring them closer to the wood stove that I'd had on since the night before so that the climate inside the house is not so low and my wife suffers: She is more affected by the cold environment.

The leaves of the recently pruned rose bushes and privets show the effects of the low temperatures that, despite being 2 hours from the mountain, have not snowed in this city, or at least not for a long time. The forms that the ice leaves on the leaves are beautiful, you just have to look closely to see what can form in one night and that at dawn will surely disappear.

Walking on the grass is also wonderful for me; Feeling the crunch of the ice when you step on it is an experience that you have never experienced before. Seeing that everything around me has a white tint makes me feel calm and hopeful that not everything will last forever and that cycles repeat themselves to be enjoyed.

I remembered that in the back of the house, there are Dandelion plants, which are known for their medicinal benefits and also because they grow everywhere, and whoever cultivates the land sees it as a weed. I had previously taken some photos of these flowers because while they are young, the yellow color stands out over the green, but when it is old, their appearance completely changes.

I have never been able to see the flower of the Liquidambar in its splendor, but only when it is already dry. Undoubtedly, the passing of the climate has given it a new look, as well as the other plants here.

And as I always say, my dear reader, life does not consist of what we can see with our eyes but goes much further; Life consists of being in full harmony with nature itself since we are part of it and it provides us with what we need to live in perfect balance with ourselves, in our health and in everything that surrounds us.
