BEACON OF LIGHT

Dear friends, this is #HiveOpenmic week 174 with the theme beacon of light. This unigue theme is chosen by our recent spotlight artist @gloriaolar. 'A beacon is a light or a fire, usually on a hilltop or tower, which acts as a signal or a warning. A beacon of light is a lighthouse that is set on a hill'. As Christians, we are called to be beacons of light. This is reiterated in the gospel of Matthew chapter 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven".

Onviously, in our world today, lots of people are roaming in darkness in pursuit of worldly benefits. We are living in a world where so many people secure their daily living through works of darkness. People kill, steal, cheat, are into prostitution, ocultic groups etc Just to make ends meet, to secure power or fame. We are living in a world where people no longer care for their souls just because of bodily benefits. A world where people are more interested in their bodies at the detriment of their souls. What a pity 😢 Dear friends, the theme of this week which is BEACON OF LIGHT is very sacrosanct as we are all called and invited to shun the works of the flesh and pay attention to the final destination of our souls. This theme is a clarion call on us all to say a big NO to the works of darkness and embrace the works of light thereby becoming harbingers of light for the world, despairing darkness and illuminating the world so brightly with the light of good works.

The title of the song which I did with my own very good friend and brother @ksam is lead kindly light. I find so much meaning in the lyrics of the song. I hope it interests you too. Cheers 🥂
