My Worst Experience As A Crew Member For A Reality Tv Show.

Proper planning for an event or anything in life shouldn't be underrated, because without a proper plan and getting everything you need for the event set, a month or few months before the event is very dangerous because it could greatly affect the event.

Now, this is my experience, the TV show is to hold in another city from where I stay and where the office is located, on the day I was traveling to get ready for the show, the office manager told me the crew that everything we needed for the show was already catered for and was already in place, so I had my day planned out already, go to the office pick up what I and the crew members needed that wasn't already at the location, I was waiting for the cab that the office provided which will take me to the location and when I got there I will take my bath, then relax a bit before I and the crew members start setting up.

I did not know I was about to receive a big shock I wasn't expecting, I got to the location found out that the reality Tv show house was locked and the person with the keys was not even in town, that was not even the bad part of this issue when we called her, she said she wasn't informed we were coming to town and where she was at the moment, would take her like 6 hours to come and give us the key, I and crew members who were already there in the compound like me were like "ok let's wait for you then."

We waited for 8 hours plus, she was nowhere to be seen when we called her, she said that she was stuck in traffic and it was already very late the time was past 10 pm already, and we were all tired, needed to take our bath after the journey of the long-distance and waiting for her as long as we have done, we decided to go to a hotel to lodge then come back the next day when she around, but that wasn't easy to get because most of the hotel's around were fully booked, we finally got one the price was fair, so we all paid and went to our various rooms.

I took my bath, was relaxing in the hotel room about to sleep when some stranger posing to be room service, around 1 am knocked on my room telling me that the food I ordered is ready, I knew immediately it was a scam or armed robber because I didn't order anything, after few minutes of him waited at my door he left, you want to know how I knew he an armed robber and didn't open the door because a friend of mine has been robbed like that in a hotel before. I honestly don't know how they manage to pass the security guards.

when the next morning came, we came back to the house, she was around and had opened the house when we got inside the house, I was disappointed the house was empty, nothing has been put in place, unlike what we were told by the general manager that everything was set, the shocker was the house had tenants who were living in the same compound as the TV show, I honestly haven't seen a show sharing compound space with other tenants, but we will have to make it work.

Since we have only 3 days before the show starts, we had no choice but to start running the errand to get all the things required to make the show a standard one by ourselves, although we are not yet done the food aspect is settled, for now, the kitchen is set.

the rooms are still a work in progress, the sitting room is where we need to focus all our attention right now but I know with the way everything is going even though we are tired and worn out, we are doing our best to get the house ready and soon every setup needed will be done, well arranged before the participants get into the house which will start by tomorrow. so all the magic that needs to be done have to be done today and it's in progress. to be continued, more updates on my experience will come as the show progresses.
