STRATEGIC FORESIGHT 1

Scenario planning, milestone hurdles and future management strategies.

Hello beautiful people. Today we will be talking about the heartbeat of the year. Many of us are starting or already started the year with clean health bill for our goals, plans and resolutions.

That means you are already set up, you have a job at hand, you are married, you are expecting a child, working on a project, planning your japka route, basically you are putting everything in place for your goals to be accomplished and comfortable enough that for the duration of the year, you know that except for unforseen circumstances, you will be fine.

That puts you in the category where we will shake your hand and tell you, have a wonderful year.

But.........

Sometimes, a person who thinks they are healthy and don't feel unwell, when they go for a general medical checkup will find out that they aren't as well as they think.

On the flip side, think of someone who is over excited up until they experience a mental overload from excess food intake, drinks, celebration and partying because of just how successful they are.

The same thing happens in the course of the year and it is different for different people.

There are many possible future scenarios that people never plan towards either positive or negative because these things aren't registered as expectation or things you should plan for.

Our focus here is not on the goals, plans or resolutions you have made but if something happens that you didn't see coming, what will you do? How will you react?

We will look at it from two views:

  1. Possible unexpected circumstances.
  2. What do you do if you experience them?
✅ UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES.

War | Pandemic
Look at the Covid pandemic, it caught the world unprepared and a lot of lives were lost when it broke out, then came the sensitization, global awareness campaign and because it was beyond what one group of people or government could handle, it led to lockdowns.

Let's assume you were the first person to learn about Covid, what would you have done?

How about being in a war zone, like those in gaza? What would you have done?

Job loss | Demotion | Loss of a loved one | Accidents
Loosing a job can be a mind boggling issue, you instantly begin to re-evaluate your savings, income, expenses, think of survival strategies depending on whether you live alone, you have family to cater for or you are a dependent.

The loss of a loved one is critical especially when relating it to how close the loss is to you, the closer the loss the heavier the pain and accompanying emotions.

How about suffering an accident? Something that requires you to rethink what you do, I know of a fashion designer who was using her right leg before the accident but had to learn to use the left leg because her right leg couldn't do the job after her recovery. God forbid you experience any of these situations but if they happen, what would you do? How would you handle the situation?

Business, Education and relationship failure | Unsatisfied goals | Scandals
One area where people experience the lows of life is when they fail at something, it may be business, they gather money and decide to start something and it fails because of a variety of reason or a combination of others beyond their control like the advancement of technology. They fold up because the time, energy and capital they put into it seemingly went down the drain, we can stress that to other unmet goals that we have written down for the year and the question is what do you do if that happens?

What if it's a situation where somebody gets pregnant for you? Or you get pregnant for somebody? Stop looking at me like that, w are talking about unforseen circumstances here and these things happen, what would you do?

I could go on and on but you get the idea and the basic question of what do you do when these things happen?

My job is to answer that question.

WHAT WILL/SHOULD YOU DO?

To be continued in part 2. Cheers.
