UNDERSTANDING DETOXIFICATION

Hello beautiful people. Detoxification has many definitions, we want to understand it from a layman's perspective. It is the process of systematically withdrawing or extracting harmful substances and wastes that are in the body and most importantly in the organs.

Looking at it, it is the psychological separation of a person from toxic substances, environment, and experiences. It is also a period that a person will abstain from drug use to focus on natural remedies for organic wastes and pollution. This is especially after drug abuse or overuse especially over a long period or during an addictive phase.

Medically, detoxification is a way to remove poisonous substances that have been ingested in the body as well as provision antidotes and prescribing techniques such as dialysis in cases where it also involves psychological toxicity, there is the recommendation for therapy, and in those cases that are cancerous, it may require chemotherapy or chelation therapy.

How do we detoxify our bodies?

— Replace alcohol with water.

It is a known fact that the benefits of alcohol to the body are not significant. It does more harm to the body of a human being than any benefit it gives. It is much easier and more beneficial to drink water.

If you cannot replace it, limit it. Your organs work harder than they should because of that. You can also take fruit-infused water too, such as:
—Turmeric
—Garlic
—Ginger
—Lemon.

Drinking water is one of the best and fastest ways to flush out toxins from your system. Water transports toxins through your system via your bloodstream, making sure they're expelled from your body.

Try to get the recommended 8 glasses of water per day.

— Sleep well.

It sounds cliché but this is very important, you cannot cheat nature, if you do not achieve REM sleep, your body cannot expel waste. Get at least 4 hours of sleep to be well-rested. If your work permits, you can get a nap for one or two hours during the day.

Whatever you think you want to achieve by staying awake when you should be sleeping is a fantasy, and you will pay back in the end because that lack of proper rest will take away from your health.

When you sleep, your organs have the opportunity to work properly or rest properly, your heart gets to slow down and clear up your arteries.

— Cut down on gadget usage.

We all know smartphones are great tools for productivity. They have become a part and parcel of our lives, also things like tablets laptops, and televisions have become inculcated into our everyday activities.

We must consciously and intentionally minimize the usage of these gadgets. The rays and strain from their usage can interfere with our body's ability to detoxify, about sleeping, we must put away gadgets for at least 2 hours before bedtime or else it will be difficult to sleep and even when you do, your mind will be too distracted to achieve REM sleep.

Focus on going outside to get the natural rays of the sun, run around, play around, and allow these gadgets to rest. Teach yourself to keep them aside and only use them when necessary. This will help you to get in touch with your environment and also have a more fun-filled life.

— Reduce junk food and sugar consumption.

There is so much to say about this because we have taken it for a joke these days. You must learn portion control. All the food you eat must not be sweet. If everything you eat is sweet. You are joking about your good health. Granulated sugar is not your friend, you should do everything you can to avoid it. Look for dates, replace sugar with honey, or beetroot, and if you must have sugar, brown sugar is more beneficial.

— Avoid fizzy drinks at all costs.

There will always be celebrations, this is unavoidable, but if you can't avoid celebrating with fizzy drinks, limit your intake to it. This particular point deserves at least 1000 words to properly explain it.

It doesn't matter if the advertisement is so sweet or they promise you that it is a zero drink, as long as it is a gaseous drink, it is not good for your health, the damage that these drinks do to the body cannot be overemphasized.

Please, if you ignore this point, you are doing yourself a lot of harm.

Drink water infused with milk if you must drink something tasty.

— Invest in meals rich in Antioxidants.

Food substances rich in prebiotics are very good for your health. Whole grains, bananas, all green plants, onions, and artichokes are very important.

Replace salt and seasoning with natural spices. Your food should lack salt than for it to be too salty.

Do you know that your liver is a key organ that works tirelessly when you eat salty meals and spicy meals? It is okay to indulge once in a while but you must avoid excess salt intake. If you can afford it, get sea salt.

You cannot be eating late at night, eating fatty foods, eating oily foods, and expect your body to detoxify. It won't work and even if it does, it would be very slow. Maintain a proper and balanced diet with plenty of water intake, and enough sleep. Ensure you do your bowels constantly. Don't hold back urine or excreta!!! It's dangerous to your health and your body.

— Sit upright.

Except you want to sleep, sit upright.
Except you want to lay down to rest, sit upright.
Slouching affects your body frame.
