Today as a reflection, I want to remember a friend who, 17 years ago, came up with the idea of ​​planting coconut plants, I will tell you that we were a group of friends who from 1998 to 2005 and 2007 We used to meet on Saturdays in a place in front of the beach, in Puerto la Cruz, we played and sang there. My friend Tribilin, as we popularly called him, liked to sing and I accompanied him on the guitar, while that the other companions played the drum, the maracas and did the choir, the truth was that one Saturday my friend Tribilin arrived at the business with his truck loaded with germinated coconuts, the stems barely reached a height of 60 centimeters , we immediately asked him about those small plants, and he told us that he was going to plant about 500 coconut palm plants on his land, when he said that, everyone laughed, as if what he was saying Tribilin It was a joke, actually, it seemed like an interesting project to me, because I like plants and in fact, at that time, I had my vegetable crops, and I had started planting avocado plants, for so I applauded my friend's decision, well friends, perhaps the other colleagues gave more importance to the popular saying that says: "What hope for those who plant coconuts" for that reason everyone laughed or made fun of my friend, but he What they did not know is that time passes quickly, especially for people who, without wasting time, put their ideas into practice, because there are those who think and think and never do anything.

Well friends, due to work commitments there on my farm, I rarely saw my friend Tribilin, sometimes we greeted each other on the way and that's how time went by until two weeks ago we found ourselves queuing at a fuel station. season. season. season. season. station, and between conversation he asked me about my farm and I asked him about his coconut trees, when I asked him he immediately smiled and said: —Do you remember when most of our friends 17 years ago laughed at me when I told them that I was going to plant coconuts,"— —Well, friend Oscar, I did this project, without thinking about time, currently I have planted almost three thousand coconut trees in full production, and it seems that not so much time has passed, those years have passed. 17 years fast, I tell you that I sell wholesale coconuts throughout the eastern part of the country and there are buyers who take the coconuts to the capital region, -then he pauses and takes a deep breath and says that he is very grateful to God for having put in his mind this brilliant idea that today is the livelihood of his family.

My new project is to continue planting avocado, at least 500 plants, because I thought that today I am 66 years old, but in a few more years, my physical condition will not be the same, so I have to look for new ones. options that guarantee me a good income without working so much, because I tell you something, field work is hard, especially when vegetables are grown, however fruit trees such as avocados, oranges and lemons only require irrigation, pruning, complying with the fertilization plan and always keeping the surroundings of their stems clean, really friends, the avocado is a very profitable crop, note that my 32 avocado trees produce an average of 6000 kilos each year, and I have other avocado plants that I hope will begin to bear fruit next year, now, imagine the production in 500 avocado trees, that is to live peacefully like my trivilin friend with his coconut trees.
