Art Nouveau [Eng | Spa]

Hello friends hivers, how are you?, I tell you: I have a friend with whom I share from time to time, he is also an illustrator, we always share and advise each other with regard to illustrations or tattoos, and these days I went to visit him and he told me that he was doing a commissioned illustration based on this type of art called "Art Nouveau". It caught my attention because it looks a lot like the neotraditional tattoo style, so I did some research on it.

"Art Nouveau is an artistic current that was born at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, it is characterized with its figures related to nature, a certain thick line for its outline, opaque tones, among others."

Hola amigos hivers, como están, les cuento: Tengo un amigo con el que comparto de vez en cuando, él también es ilustrador, siempre compartimos y nos asesoramos en cuanto a ilustraciones o tatuajes, y en estos días fui a visitarlo y me comentó que estaba haciendo una ilustración por encargo basada en este tipo de arte llamado "Art Nouveau". Me llamó la atención porque se parece mucho al estilo de tatuaje neotradicional, así que investigué un poco al respecto.

I quite liked the style, and I feel that I identify with it, because as I said it looks a lot like the neotradi style and the color range is mostly with autumnal or opaque colors, which I think is very cool. So I decided to make an illustration to my taste with this artistic style.

Me gustó bastante el estilo, y me siento identificada con él, ya que como he dicho se parece mucho al estilo neotradi y la gama de colores es mayoritariamente con colores otoñales u opacos, lo cual me parece muy chévere. Así que decidí hacer una ilustración a mi gusto con este estilo artístico.

Process - Proceso

I chose this beautiful maiden as a reference because several artistic photos of her caught my attention, but for the moment I only wanted to make what is her face.

Elegí a esta bella doncella como referencia porque me llamaron la atención varias fotos artísticas de ella, pero de momento sólo quería hacer lo que es su cara.

To make the sketch was a little complicated because of the angle in which she is posing, but little by little it flowed. Then I made the shadows with grayscales, (I got fond of making the shadows first this way and then go to the color, because I feel that the skin and hair are much better)

Hacer el boceto fue un poco complicado por el ángulo en el que está posando, pero poco a poco fue fluyendo. Luego hice las sombras con escalas de grises, (me aficioné a hacer las sombras primero de esta manera y luego pasar al color, porque siento que la piel y el cabello quedan mucho mejor).

Then I placed a layer of color with a skin tone, and in another one with multiply fusion I placed green, lilac and pink tones, to give that skin tone, with the hair I did the same but playing with yellow and green colors.

The next step was to make the eyebrows, eyes, mouth and give details to the nose.

Luego coloqué una capa de color con un tono de piel, y en otra con fusión múltiple coloqué tonos verdes, lilas y rosas, para dar ese tono de piel, con el pelo hice lo mismo pero jugando con colores amarillos y verdes.

El siguiente paso fue hacer las cejas, los ojos, la boca y darle detalles a la nariz.

Once this was done I made the natural figures present (the roses and branches). To finish I made some details with blood and added lighting.

For the background I only painted it in aqua green and placed shadows on the girl. And so I finished this Illustration

Una vez hecho esto hice las figuras naturales presentes (las rosas y las ramas). Para terminar hice algunos detalles con sangre y añadí iluminación.

Para el fondo solo lo pinté en verde agua y coloqué sombras sobre la chica. Y así terminé esta ilustración.

The illustration may have its details, but I liked the result in spite of that. I thanked my friend for teaching me this kind of art and I think I will continue to do it. I hope you guys liked it. ✨ Thanks to you guys for reading me again, I'll see you guys later!
