Hey my dear hivers!

I'm a little excited to share with you my first art commission, it was a very cool and stressful experience, I've always said that I like to draw, mostly for myself not for other people, but I decided to change that. This time I had to do a portrait. Below I share with you the process.

¡Hola mis queridos hivers!

Estoy un poco emocionada de compartir con ustedes mi primer encargo de arte, fue una experiencia muy genial y estresante, siempre he dicho que me gusta dibujar, sobre todo para mi misma no para otras personas, pero decidí cambiar eso. Esta vez tuve que hacer un retrato. A continuación les comparto el proceso.

I asked my client for a description, she kindly gave me detailed information to an elf, I thought it was a wonderful idea so I got to work immediately. For some reason this one reminded me a lot of Rapunzel. With great emotion I presented three base sketches in which she chose this one, so I cleaned it up little by little.

Guinevere is a character from a German game, she is the goddess of life, healing and fertility. Her eyes are green and she has delicate features. Her golden hair falls down her shoulders and she wears a crown of flowers.

I found it interesting to create a face simply with a description, I think I had never done it until now, it was quite complicated and for some reason I thought I would not succeed.

Le pedí a mi cliente una descripción, ella amablemente me dio información detallada de una elfa, pensé que era una idea maravillosa así que me puse a trabajar inmediatamente. Por alguna razón ésta me recordó mucho a Rapunzel. Con gran emoción le presenté tres bocetos base en los que ella eligió este, así que lo fui puliendo poco a poco.

Guinevere es un personaje de un juego alemán, es la diosa de la vida, la curación y la fertilidad. Sus ojos son verdes y tiene rasgos delicados. Su pelo dorado le cae por los hombros y lleva una corona de flores.

Me pareció interesante crear una cara simplemente con una descripción, creo que nunca lo había hecho hasta ahora, era bastante complicado y por alguna razón pensé que no tendría éxito.

In spite of the complexity, I put a lot of care and attention to detail in the skin and facial features. She had to have a sweet and innocent look, so that's what I wanted to achieve. Her hair was complicated because at the beginning I got an ashy blonde tone and not golden blonde, but these are details that I was varying step by step.

The protagonist of all this portrait would be the flower crown, haha my client did not specify me exactly what kind of flowers she was wearing since she mentioned that she does not have much knowledge about flowers, she only said that flowers of padera or field. So I did some research, the flowers I selected for this portrait are daisies, gerbera, lavender, rape, hydrangea, among others.

In a separate format I made each one and then put them together to create the wreath. Then I finished with the details of the shadows and lights.
This is the final result. The good thing about this whole experience is that my client was delighted with it and I'm satisfied with that :D See you next time.

A pesar de la complejidad, puse mucho cuidado y atención al detalle en la piel y los rasgos faciales. Tenía que tener un aspecto dulce e inocente, así que eso es lo que quería conseguir. Su cabello fue complicado porque al principio conseguí un tono rubio ceniza y no rubio dorado, pero son detalles que fui variando paso a paso.

La protagonista de todo este retrato sería la corona de flores, jaja mi clienta no me especificó exactamente que tipo de flores llevaba ya que mencionó que no tiene mucho conocimiento sobre flores, solo dijo que flores de padera o campo. Así que investigué un poco, las flores que seleccioné para este retrato son margaritas, gerbera, lavanda, colza, hortensia, entre otras.

Hice cada una por separado y luego las junté para crear la corona. Luego terminé con los detalles de las sombras y las luces.
Este es el resultado final. Lo bueno de toda esta experiencia es que mi clienta quedó encantada con ella y yo estoy satisfecha con eso :D Hasta la próxima.
