Hey there my dear sketchbook community! I hope you had a great weekend.
You know? Saturday I was at an expo tattoo, for me it was amazing to see again great artists and friends tattooing, I had been so far away from this world that I felt like I had returned home hehe xD it was a moment of great inspiration, especially to see so many styles of tattoo art in one room, it inspired me so much that today I wanted to practice another style for my illustrations. Today I focus on Pop Art, a very colorful style, we usually see it mostly in comics, but it is certainly a style that has come to be seen even in business designs ... I leave you the process below.

Hola, mi querida comunidad de sketchbook. Espero que hayan tenido un gran fin de semana.
¿Saben? El sábado estuve en una expo tattoo, para mi fue increíble volver a ver a grandes artistas y amigos tatuando, había estado tan alejada de este mundo que sentí que había vuelto a casa jeje xD fue un momento de gran inspiración, sobre todo ver tantos estilos de arte del tatuaje en una misma sala, me inspiró tanto que hoy quise practicar otro estilo para mis ilustraciones. Hoy me centro en el Pop Art, un estilo muy colorido, solemos verlo sobre todo en cómics, pero sin duda es un estilo que se ha llegado a ver incluso en diseños empresariales.... A continuación les dejo el proceso.

I started with my sketch and dividing the canvas in four parts where in two of them I worked the face in grayscales and in the other two something more colorful, working in one of them warm colors and in the other cold colors.
Comencé con mi boceto y dividiendo el lienzo en cuatro partes donde en dos de ellas trabajé el rostro en escalas de grises y en las otras dos algo más colorido, trabajando en una de ellas colores cálidos y en la otra colores fríos.

After having the sections I started to work the grayscales, making first the line art with a textured marker brush, I wanted it to look traditional so I made the shadows freehand, there are brushes for this, but I thought this would give it a different touch, maybe another time I will do it with a specific brush.
When I had these areas finished, I started with the colors, I tried that these areas did not lose the comic style that I wanted to make here, I also put some color where I had made the gray face, where you can see that I placed the solid background with blue and red.
Después de tener las secciones empecé a trabajar las escalas de grises, haciendo primero el line art con un pincel de rotulador texturizado, quería que pareciera tradicional así que hice las sombras a mano alzada, hay pinceles para esto, pero pensé que así le daría un toque diferente, quizás en otra ocasión lo haga con un pincel específico.
Cuando tuve estas zonas terminadas, empecé con los colores, intenté que estas zonas no perdieran el estilo cómic que quería hacer aquí, también puse algo de color donde había hecho el rostro gris, donde se puede ver que coloqué el fondo sólido con azul y rojo.

To finish I had thought of placing some words very characteristic of the comics, but it was not to my liking, so I decided to do this in some other portrait later on. I also wanted to make contrast in the colorful areas so I chose green and purple for their backgrounds. This has been my practice today, I really liked the result, I hope you do too.
Para terminar había pensado colocar algunas palabras muy características de los cómics, pero no fue de mi agrado, así que decidí hacerlo en algún otro retrato más adelante. También quería hacer contraste en las zonas de color así que elegí el verde y el morado para sus fondos. Esta ha sido mi práctica de hoy, me ha gustado mucho el resultado, espero que a ustedes también.

I like how you do this pop art! I have not tried making such but maybe soon. This would be my inspiration if ever I will make one.
Yeah, it made me want to get a tattoo haha, trying a new kind of art is really cool, who knows if you'll end up liking it.
