Retro Pin Up Portrait

Hello dear sketchbook community, I hope you are well, today I bring you this portrait of a girl wearing a pin-up style which inspired me, vintage for some reason calls my attention, I guess because of its range of opaque colors, so I did not resist the idea and got down to work, then I share with you the process of it.

Hola querida comunidad de sketchbook, espero que se encuentren bien, hoy les traigo este retrato de una chica vistiendo un estilo pin-up que me inspiró, lo vintage por alguna razón me llama la atención, supongo que por su gama de colores opacos, así que no me resistí a la idea y puse manos a la obra, a continuación les comparto el proceso del mismo.

Wandering through pinterest I found the photo of this girl and as her style is so beautiful I decided not to change anything, when I started coloring I began to do it with a brush that gives a texture of acrylic on canvas, I liked this although to make the mixture between colors was somewhat complicated. Even so, little by little I did it, first I did the skin, I liked that it gave a very realistic quality. As her clothes were pastel colored, the shadows had to be very soft, and that cost me something.

Deambulando por pinterest encontré la foto de esta chica y como su estilo es tan bonito decidí no cambiar nada, cuando me puse a colorear comencé a hacerla con un pincel que da una textura de acrílico sobre lienzo, esto me gustó aunque para hacer la mezcla entre colores fue algo complicado. Aun así poco a poco lo fui haciendo, primero hice la piel, me gustó que le daba una calidad muy realista. Al ser su ropa de un color pastel las sombras tenían que ser muy tenues, y eso me costó algo.

The finish that I was getting I was liking a lot, I think I had a long time without enjoying so much an illustration. The transparency is one of the things I liked the most about her clothes, I worked in 3 layers, one with the base color taking the opacity to 45%, one with texture with 70% opacity, and the last one I worked under these two with an airbrush to make the wrinkles in her clothes and simulate some seams.

El acabado que iba consiguiendo me estaba gustando mucho, creo que tenía mucho tiempo sin disfrutar tanto de una ilustración. La transparencia es una de las cosas que más me gustó de su ropa, trabajé en 3 capas, una con el color base llevando la opacidad al 45%, otra con textura con un 70% de opacidad, y la última la trabajé debajo de estas dos con un aerógrafo para hacer las arrugas de su ropa y simular algunas costuras.

Now to finish I did the hair and the hat, so the background work it with some stains and textures to give the effect that it is a traditional painting, I hope you like it. ✨

Ahora para terminar hice el cabello y el sombrero, entonces el fondo lo trabaje con algunas manchas y texturas para dar el efecto de que es una pintura tradicional, espero les guste. ✨
