Rumors spread in the villages that if you wander too far into the jungles of Azmare that you'll be snatched by Iza the Fanged. She does not use her fangs, or her teeth to grab you—but the very jungle itself. She'll drag you off to some deep cave and place you before her to serve as dinner or plaything, depending on her mood. It is a tale that parents use to keep their children close to home. It is laughed off by villagers and travelers as a spooky campfire story. But every year the disappearances continue, so the rumors persist.

Iza enjoys the rumors spread about her, although she would point out her appetite is not for children. Iza does not know where she came from, except that she was born with the heart of a serpent. Her earliest memories are of trees all around her, covered in snakes. Iza moves silently, almost invisible, within the jungle. The earth mana wraps around her and flows through her, enabling her to control vines, thorns, and trees. Iza does not need weapons, for she is the very jungle itself. As usual, I started to make the initial sketch for the character. For this I used as references some images that I took from my favorite social network for inspiration "Pinterest". The truth is that for this drawing I wanted to dare to make a pose a little more "dynamic" according to me and get out of the everyday, you know that I always draw and paint mostly portraits and faces, but for this illustration I wanted to work it to half body and try other poses, so I looked for several reference images on Pinterest to serve me as support.

Como es normal, comencé a hacer el boceto inicial para el personaje. Para ello use de referencias algunas imágenes que tome de mi red social favorita para buscar inspiración "Pinterest". La verdad que para este dibujo quise atreverme a hacer una pose un poco más "dinámica" según yo y salirme de lo cotidiano, ustedes saben que yo siempre dibujo y pinto mayormente son retratos y rostros, pero para esta ilustración quise trabajarla a medio cuerpo y probar otras poses, por eso busque varias imágenes de referencia en Pinterest para que así me sirvieran de apoyo.

When I had the sketch ready, I went to work on the color. I took the color palette of the original drawing and modified it to my liking, you know that I like to work with colors that are not so saturated in my illustrations, so that's what I did. I started by applying a base color for the skin and then I went to work on the face, which is the first thing I actually worked on. Besides that, I was adding a couple of shadows while I was working on the skin, this to give me an idea of where the shadows would go and save time. Later on I will work and give more details in the whole illustration, these are just the first steps I like to take.

Cuando tuve el boceto listo, me fui a trabajar el color. Tome como paleta de color la del dibujo original y la modifique a mi gusto, ya saben que me gusta trabajar los colores no tan saturados en mis ilustraciones, así que fue lo que hice. Comencé aplicando un color base para la piel y luego me fui a trabajar el rostro, que es lo primero que trabajo la verdad. Ademas de eso, fui agregando un par de sombras mientras iba trabajando la piel, esto para darme una idea de donde irían las mismas y ahorrar tiempo. Mas adelante voy trabajando y dando más detalles en toda la ilustración, estos son solo los primeros pasos que me gusta dar.

Once I have worked on the face and given some details on the skin, I'm going to do the color work on the clothes. If I'm honest, I painted the clothes very quickly, which surprised me, because they look very good and visually very detailed, but in reality they are not, I just made a couple of details and that's it, I really love how it looks. I'm adding shadows and other details to make contrast with the skin and everything looks harmonious, according to me xD.

Una vez que he trabajado el rostro y he dado algunos detalles en la piel, me voy a hacer el trabajo de color en la ropa. Si les soy sincero, la ropa la pinte muy rápido, lo cual me sorprendió, ya que quedo muy bien y se ve visualmente muy detallada, pero en realidad no lo esta, solo hice un par de detalles en la misma y listo, la verdad que ame como quedo. Igualmente voy agregando sombras y demás detalles para que vayan haciendo contraste con la piel y todo luzca armonioso, según yo xD.

I always leave the hair for the end, because it is what takes me the most time. I applied a base color for it and added the shadows, so I could work on the line art, lights, shines and other details. I'll be honest, this hair has been one of the ones I've enjoyed the most in the short time I've been drawing digitally. After I have done all the color work on the hair, I do all the final details on the illustration. I add more shadows, highlights, line art, and stop counting, obviously I also do the background. One of my favorite illustrations at the moment, no doubt!

Siempre dejo para el final el cabello, porque es lo que más tiempo me quita a mi la verdad. Aplique un color base para el mismo y fui agregando las sombras, para así irme a trabajar el line art, luces, brillos y demás detalles. Les voy hacer sincero, este cabello ha sido de los que más me ha gustado hacer en el poco tiempo que llevo dibujando en digital. Luego que he hecho todo el trabajo de color en el cabello, paso a hacer todos los detalles finales en la ilustración. Agrego más sombras, luces, line art y pare de contar, obvio que también hago el fondo. Una de mis ilustraciones favoritas de momento, sin duda!
