Songs like Thrift Shop, Can't Hold Us or Same Love made them one of the most influential rap duos among the general music-consuming public. The Americans Macklemore and Ryan Lewis come to Madrid this week (April 1) in what will be their only concerts in Spain in 2016. According to legend, the singer and rapper Ben Haggerty, better known as Macklemore, met Ryan Lewis during a Photoshoot. The same thing happened again with the next single, "Can't Hold Us", making the duo one of the first to hit the charts with the first two songs from their debut album.

Macklemore was an unsigned hustler for The Source in early 2012 and also appeared on the cover of XXL magazine as part of the Freshman of 2012. "Thrift Shop" peaked at #1 on the Australian radio station's "Hottest 100" Triple J in 2012. Their song "One Love" also performed well, ranking 15th on the same list, which is considered the largest survey in the music industry today. At the 2014 Grammy Awards, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were nominated in four categories, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Album for The Heist, Best Rap Performance for Thrift Shop, and Best Rap Song.
