To understand the artistic dimension of R. Kelly (Chicago, 54 years old) it is useful to resort to comparison. Due to his subject matter and expressiveness, he could be considered a modern-day Marvin Gaye. In terms of performance and autonomy, he was similar to Prince, but without eclecticism. After winning her child pornography trial, Kelly cemented her image as a ghetto orphan with her autobiography, Soulacoaster, in which she lamented growing up without a father and claimed to have been sexually abused when she was a child. Already in Korea, some information from the Washington Post has raised suspicions about the label, which has not been involved in controversy for several years. The Spotify platform refused to support her recording, but later corrected it. Currently, R. Kelly is still available on streaming services.
