DINNER PARTY WAS LIT!!

Yesterday was our FYB (Final Year Brethren) dinner party and I will say I enjoyed myself because it was fun, after much stress thinking I won't be attending the party because of the conditions surrounding the party. At first the department Dean of students had refused us celebrating this party because they insisted they were still on strike but after the HOD (Head of department) intervened, we were later allowed to celebrate it as it's the school tradition to celebrate all final year students before they finally leave the school.

Since I have been in the school system, I have never attended my department dinner party, of course other levels can attend just to cheer the final year students up. I took it to myself that this year's party will not pass me by and indeed I didn't allow it to pass me by.

I day to the party I went to the store to get a party gown since I wanted to look exceptional that day, I bought a gorgeous black gown and the next day evening, my friend and I dress up in our beautiful dinner gowns ready for the party. I did my makeup which only took few minutes because I'm not really good at makeup 😂, I tried my best to come out smart. I also helped my friend to do her makeup, just a little lipstick and mascara on her face and boom!! We were ready for our dinner party 🎉

The event center wasn't far from our house so my friend suggested we walk to the place but I refused. How can I dress up like a princess and still walk to the event center, I suggested we use a bike even if we don't have a car or something like that and she agreed with me. Hehehehe

We got to the event center and we were asked to buy a ticket of #1,000, are you kidding me? Normally every section we pay money for departmental dues which was supposed to cover up for the party so I was shocked when they asked us to pay money for tickets before we can enter. After much argument, my friend and I paid #1,000 for the both of us. Afterwards, we went to take pictures, though it was raining but I still wanted to take some pictures. I can't imagine coming for my dinner party and not taking pictures, that's not Nancy at all because I'm a lover of pictures even when I don't really know how to pose. Hehehehe

After pictures we went to seat down on our reserved chair, yeah you heard me right, all FYB had a particular chair reserved for them because it's their special day. I walked like a model towards my seat and I sat down like a princess observing everywhere and checking if some of my friends came for the party. One of my friend was actually sitting down beside me and I couldn't even recognize her because of the heavy makeup on her face🤣🤣, when she turned, she called me and I was like I don't know you and she started laughing. When I looked at her and her voice also sounded familiar, we hugged ourselves but I was still surprise how the makeup changed her totally.

It was time for the pageantry walk, they were five contestants two boys and three girls for Mr and Mrs MCB (Microbiology). The contestants came out in their beautiful dress displaying their talent, contestant number two got my attention because of her unique dance. Although, others danced very well but her's was different.

Contestant number one was dressed in Benin attire with lots of beads around her neck, hands and head. Contestants two and three were dressed as an Igbo maiden, contestant four was dressed like one of the chiefs in the Igbo culture while the last contestant was dressed in a TIV attire. TIV is one of the culture in Benue state, I can say the last contestant was looking exceptionally different and unique. This was the second phase of the pageantry walk.

While the contestants walk back to prepare for the last phase, they shared food for everyone. This is the part I love the most, party is always sweet when there are lots of food to eat.

The last phase of the pageantry walk, all the contestants had to dress in their own dinner party wears and when they came out, they were looking stunning 🥰🥰 I couldn't help but stirred at the contestants. It is at this point that awards are being given out and then Mr and Mrs MCB will also be chosen.

Awards were presented to those who merit it and I got a little FYB badge for being part of the department. I was happy because not only me got the little badge, all the FYB got their little badges too.

I'm sure you will like to know who won the Mr and Mrs MCB, well I will tell you the full gist😂😂. The winners for the position of Mr and Mrs MCB was contestant number five and number two 👏👏👏

It was then time for party after party 🥳🥳 which means dance, dance, dance and dance before going home. See how happy I was, I quickly ran to the stage with other students dancing and making moves with all the styles I know. My friend had refused to come on stage because she was very shy, I had to dance with other people on stage but some minutes later, I noticed my friend was already up shaking her body because she couldn't resist the music.

You needed to see my dance moves, I'm pretty sure many people who had believe I was the quiet type in class would have been surprised seeing me in that state 😝😝, some of my male friends danced with me and I had forgotten that I was being watched by everyone else as I rock them🤭, this was how happy I was last night. It wasn't easy but I enjoyed myself last night.
