I want to also appreciate @joanstewart for yet another interesting topics for this week's contest, I will be reacting to option one which says:

What was the most devastating event in your life? Express your feelings and how you coped.

Since I was a teenager, my life has been going smoothly and peacefully without any stress but little worries. I only have to worry less about anything because I have it already taken care of by my parents. My journey as an adult started when I had admission to study science laboratory technology in Benue state, I choose the school because I wanted to be far from home but I never knew it was a full day journey.

When it was time to go to school was when I realized that I actually have to stay hours on the bus without movement but that was just the least of my worries, though I was quite scared that I will spend 13 hours on the road without moving nor doing anything, just sitting in one place. I traveled several times to Benue state from Lagos and most times I usually get to my destination the next day morning.

My most devastating moment was when I saw armed robbers robbing a bus before mine along Enugu State road, I thought that was going to be the end because they were shooting, I was so scared because that was the first time I witnessed a life robbery. The driver quickly reversed the bus and we had to go back, the only thing I did was to pray that nothing will happen to us and God actually answer my prayers. I don't know how the driver did it, all I believe was that God took over the staring and made the impossible possible. According to what I heard that some people died from the gunshots while some were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. I had imagined several times if that was the bus I entered 🤔 what would have been my fate?

Even after the incident, I was still afraid, I told myself if my school was closer to house all this wouldn't have happened, but I made the choice so I had to finish it up. At some point when I sleep, I see the same incident especially when I'm sleeping alone, but with time I got over it. I no longer see it as something that will pull me down, all I do now is to narrate the horrible experience to people and advice them to always be prayerful.

I will like to invite @tarilayoung and @sekani to participate here

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY

Witnessing a crime is terrible. That must have been really scary experience although it wasn't your bus that got robbed. It's saddening to know that some people perished on that incident...

Wow, what a terrible experience, if it was to be me, I would've fainted in the process of the robbery. So grateful to God you came out safe.
Thank you for the invite.

I experienced robbery too inside a van with my two sons. I was traumatized for a week. I didn't know that far deeper devastation was waiting for me. That one, due to its depth, is better to be dismissed in silence.

My youngest son at that time was six and my eldest was 12. I told my youngest son to sleep so that he would not know what was going on. My eldest son looked into my eyes puzzled. He too was traumatized.
