En medio de la expectativa que genera el enfrentamiento entre ambas selecciones tanto Italia como Brasil salieron con todo a buscar el triunfo, pero la escuadra "Azzurra" domino el compromiso de principio a fin llevándose la victoria 3-2 ante una selección de Brasil, en la que algunos de sus jugadores, en días previos al juego se quejaron por la pelota que iba a ser utilizada.

Arranco el segundo tiempo Brasil realiza par de cambios, Matheus Martins y Giovani dan paso a Savio Moreira y Marquinhos para refrescar el medio campo; Italia seguía intentándolo buscaba el cuarto tanto con buena tenencia de la pelota, pases cortos y llegadas ocasionales, al minuto 71 el técnico italiano Carmine Nunziata se ve obligado a realizar un cambio, el defensa central Gabriele Guarino presentaba problemas físicos y no podía continuar por lo que su lugar fue tomado por Alessandro Fontanarosa. De momento la defensa italiana se desordeno; Marcos Leonardo aprovecho un error en el área y con un certero disparo, ponía el primero para la Verdeamarela, la azzurra realizo par de cambios ofensivos al 77 y ya al minuto 81 por poco marcan el cuarto en las piernas de Matteo Prati que engancho e hizo un fuerte disparo, pero el portero Mycael intervino con una gran atrapada. A falta de tres minutos para cumplirse el tiempo reglamentario Marcos Leonardo de cabeza después de un centro de Savio anoto el segundo. La Canarinha busco, lo intento por todos los medios, pero el tiempo no les alcanzo y al minuto 96 el árbitro decreto el final del compromiso. Italia 3 Brasil 2.

Desde mi opinión particular creo que su club no le dio el permiso, ya que el el jugador es pretendido por el Barcelona de España, en las próximas horas pudiera estar estampando su firma millonaria con los azulgrana.
