Weather Condition In Lafia City Nigeria..

Hello everyone, good day and welcome to my entry for Hive Learners weekly events for Week 102 edition one.

Today I'll be sharing with you all about a place called Lafia city which is the capital of Nasarawa State in Nigeria. This isn't where I live actually but school brought me to the place and after spending six years of academic pursuit, I can gladly call myself an indigene of this great place.

After experiencing several weather conditions, I've come to realize that Lafia's weather condition doesn't come just normal like other places. Lafia's weather condition is always times two of the weather condition. During harmattan, everything happens so much, the excessive breeze, the dust and the dry state of our lips and reaction of the skin to the weather comes excessively. During raining season, everywhere turns extra muddy and we hardly can find our way to the lectures venue, I use to even think that the whole of my area is more of a swampy area where people can farm rice.The whole place becomes filled with water all the time.

Coming down to Heat season in Lafia city, it is so much that while I was writing this very post I was laying down outside because of the excessive heat. Everything use to happen times two of the usual in Lafia city, infact we even prefer the cold season where we can use our blanket or bedsheets to cover ourselves and keep ourselves a little bit warm. Heat season is a bit expensive to manage because you will be needing either a fan or an air-conditioner to stabilize the temperature of the environment to your taste.

Sometimes when you happen to have all the electrical appliances that will serve you in this particular type of season we are currently, the power holding company will decide to keep people out of power supply. When there's no electricity light, that's when the weather condition becomes more critical. The heat right now is that much to the extend that you could be bathing and at the same time still feeling heat, I remember several times when I'll bath and after drying myself up instantly I'll start sweating a little bit. The heat is something else, the walls gets hot, clothes on hanger also become hot I don't know how manage, the sun didn't enter my run but I do feel like it's inside my room..lol

I have adapted to the system of drinking more water and also exercising regularly to keep myself fit. I don't hesitate to use the varenda at night when it's dark and the place is a beat calm so I could get access to little breeze the trees are producing at that particular moment. It's not easy surviving the hash weather then but I am pretty use to it since this is how the weather has been treating me for over six years of my stay here.

I don't think it's different from how it use to be, the weather normally becomes aggressive this way during this time of the year always but I think we can do a couple of things that can make life better for us.

Trees plays a pivotal role in producing oxygen and calm environment for living organisms, when we cut down allot of trees, we are automatically increasing global warming and we are directly decreasing the production of oxygen in the atmosphere. If the government will take forestry and their activities very serious, I am pretty sure it will go a long way. We should also plant more trees than we uproot or burn down, these are the few methods I think can help the whole world at large regarding hot climates like the one here in Lafia city..
