The Beauty Of Korea: Respect, Traditions and Flavor

(Edited)

Korea is a beautiful place I would love to visit. I have a relative who says the way I usually talk about Korea is as if I have visited it; she is surprised by how I know a lot of cities. All this I got to know by just watching different Korean movies and dramas.

If I am to introduce someone to Korea, I will remarkably start by telling them how surprisingly respectful they are to both their traditions and elders. I used to think respect was just an African thing till I started watching Korean drama, and I was in awe.

They have so much respect that you just don't talk to someone who is senior anyhow; they use honorific language and show deference to their seniors. The way they bow when greeting each other shows how hierarchy is respected with so much sincerity; that's something I really admire.

I so much love and admire how they have come to preserve their customs, even as the world around them changes, where everyone is becoming woke. They still have places that are historically important, and I love how they are still holding onto their roots while they are embracing modernity. The historical sites, the traditional clothing, and the rituals are all just so captivating.

They also have different mouthwatering dishes. While I am not someone to badmouth people's food, there are people that, when I see their food, I just know that I would never want to try their dishes, but it's different with Korean cuisine; it just has this delightful look.

They have just everything, ranging from spicy kimchi to savory bulgogi, and let's not forget the addictive tteokbokki. And you know what? It's not just the flavors that draw you in, though—it's the way it is presented and the varieties they have. South Koreans are just a unique set of people that have a beautiful and unique sense of fashion, and they also don't joke with skin care.

To know more about them, watch K-dramas and K-pop.

You're indeed a Korean fan and I hope your dream of visiting there someday comes true.
While I don't have an inkling about their culture, I like the way they present foods in varieties, and they'll usually fresh. I've heard about Kimchi a couple of times and I'd love to try it out, if I get a chance.
