A Change of Environment

Hello moms and dads of hive! Compliments of the season and I hope you had a great holiday for us! Lol.
Because Baby and I have been indoors. Nope. No holiday journey for us or any vacationing. We basically have been indoors doing our usuals that is exercising, playing, watching YouTube videos, blogging, singing, dancing, cooking and of cause eating.

There were time we both got bored of the walls of our house and we'll occasionally take a stroll around our locality. Well, yesterday was one of those days.

We didn't really start our day in that mood anyways. Just like every other day, we woke up around 7am and got groomed. After finishing our hearty breakfast we started to feel sleepy and so we both went to take a nap. This is nothing unusual or new. Its amaze me why I always feel sleepy at that time of the day. So I wasn't surprised to see my baby subscribe to that pattern if sleep I.e taking a nap between 10am -12pm in the morning. Even when I use to go to work, I always fight to be awake around that time of the day. That's why I'll always have coffee tea, candy or bubble gum on my work table.

Not to divert from our gist. So we wake up from our nap and I feed her. I played with her for a while before picking my phone to attend to work. This was the part she didn't like. My baby always wants my full attention but most times am able to distract her with some toys or a task like unravelling the collection of things I have in her play basket while I work.

On this day, she was not having it as she was exceptionally clingy so I tied her to my back African style while I kept on doing my work.

This only worked for a couple of minutes because not long after that she started to throw tantrums on my back. Forcefully trying to get out of the wrapper as though she really could.

This was uncomfortable for me and I could not keep working either so I let her down. While she was happy she won, she still wanted to stick with me. I had to drop my phone and focus on her once again.

She nursed and played for a while before she started to get bored again. Twas then I figured she might be bored and it would be nice to take her for a stroll around.

The sun was down, the weather was right. So I placed her back on my back and tied her African style. We both drank some water and I stepped out.

Harmattan is still very much around. While there is no much cold, the weather is still hazy. When you look afar, you could see the harmattan in the air.

Most people seem to have travelled because every feels dry, quiet and scanty. We kept walking with no particular destination in mind.

I could tell my baby was having a good time because she was mostly quiet and calm. She watched everything on the way with so much interest and when ever we walked pass a child or an animal, her excitement gets triggered. Like when we walked pass some grazing cows. I thought she was going to be scared of the huge animals but on the contrary she was trying hard to touch one by extending her little hand.

After walk a few more distance, I felt like we needed to start heading back home so I stopped at a shop to buy something we needed at home and started to make our way back home because I still needed to get dinner ready before night falls.

Though I had her on my back, I was not at all tired. As a matter of fact, I felt refreshed and happy that I was able to take her out. I felt like we could do this more often. It is sort of therapeutic.

   Thanks For Reading

I remember how my son reacts if i take him out of the house, the big sigh and leap of joy he gives like i have been locking him up indoor..

Thatz why i try to take a walk most evenings but this harmattan has not been encouraging so we are back to being indoor.
