Puelo Lake Viewpoint - A trail to enjoy the scenery / Mirador del Lago Puelo - Un sendero para disfrutar del paisaje

During our stay in El Bolsón, we really did a lot of incredible walks, not only in the city, but also in the surrounding areas where we took advantage of the proximity of so many natural attractions to try to see as many places as possible. The truth is that it was not the best strategy on our part but it serves as a learning experience for future adventures.

These places are to be visited with time and enjoy every corner. When you research and program the trips you go with an idea of the places you want to visit and the trails to do, many of which we had to leave aside for the simple fact of not exposing our daughters.

When you arrive at your destination and start talking to the locals, you realize that what you can find by surfing the web is a small amount of attractions but there are other very nice ones that are not much talked about and that sometimes can be much more beautiful and less crowded, which gives it a special flavor because the contact with the environment is much deeper.

En nuestra estadía en El Bolsón, realmente hicimos muchos paseos increíbles, no solo en la ciudad, sino en los alrededores donde aprovechamos la proximidad de tantas atracciones naturales para intentar conocer la mayor cantidad de sitios. La verdad que no fue la mejor estrategia de nuestra parte pero nos sirve de aprendizaje para próximas aventuras.

Estos sitios son para recorrerlos con tiempo y disfrutar de cada rincón. Cuando uno investiga y programa los viajes va con una idea de los sitios que desea conocer y los senderos a realizar, de los cuales muchos debimos dejar en lado por el simple hecho de no exponer a nuestras hijas.

Cuando uno llega a destino y comienza a conversar con la gente del lugar, se da cuenta que lo que uno puede encontrar navegando en la web es una pequeña cantidad de atracciones pero hay otras muy lindas de las cuales poco se hable y que en ocasiones pueden ser hasta mucho más bonitas y menos concurridas, lo cual le da un sabor especial ya que el contacto que se establece con el entorno es mucho más profundo.

On our second visit to Lake Puelo, we decided to enjoy two trails, one of which I will share with you today. The trail in question is “EL MIRADOR DEL LAGO” a beautiful 1 kilometer long trail where you can not only get wonderful views, but also go through lush native forests with a fairly steep slope that at times makes it a little tiring.

The breathtaking views of the lake, walking through lush forests, listening to the birds singing are a great reward that can be enjoyed in those moments when you stop to rest.

Once again I want to emphasize here the beautiful sensations that go through you when you visit these places, where you achieve a great connection not only with the environment, but what is much more important with ourselves, with our inner self, sharpening our sensitivity to the point of not understanding at times what happens to us.

As you may have noticed, I live and enjoy nature in a very particular way and being able to visit and get to know these true paradises makes it even more special. Looking at the photos and visiting those corners that remain in my memory is very pleasant.

En nuestra segunda visita al Lago Puelo, decidimos disfrutar de dos senderos, uno de los cuales hoy les comparto. El sendero en cuestión es "EL MIRADOR DEL LAGO" un hermoso sendero de 1 kilómetro de extensión en donde no solo se pueden obtener maravillosas vistas, sin que se atraviesan frondosos bosques nativos con un desnivel bastante que por momentos lo torna un poco cansador.

Las impresionantes vistas del lago, en gran parte del recorrido, caminar entre frondosos bosques, oír los canto de las aves son una gran recompensa que se puede disfrutar en esos momentos en que uno se detiene a descansar.

Una vez más quiero resaltar aquí las hermosas sensaciones que a uno lo atraviesan al visitar estos sitios, donde se logra una gran conexión no solo con el entorno, sino lo que es mucho más importante con nosotros mismos, con nuestro interior agudizando nuestra sensibilidad al punto de no entender por momentos lo que nos sucede.

Como se habrá dado cuenta soy de vivir y de disfrutar la naturaleza de una manera muy particular y poder visitar y conocer estos verdaderos paraísos lo hace aún más especial. Mirar las fotos y recorrer esos rincones que quedaron guardados en la memoria es muy agradable.

Although the trail is not very long, it is somewhat complicated because sometimes it climbs very steeply and you have to know how to distribute your energy very well so as not to get exhausted, although the scenery is an excellent excuse to stop and observe and take a breath of fresh air.

Going with our youngest daughter was an extra difficulty since her adventurous soul and her almost non-existent awareness of danger made you spend extra energy following her when she tried to let go of your hand out of curiosity. Since the idea was not only to get to the viewpoint, but for all of us to enjoy the trail, I agreed to make those little detours, while my wife and my older daughter went ahead.

In parts I had to put her on my shoulders to be able to move forward and climb some interesting slopes. The nice thing about these trails and almost all the trails we hiked was that the people we passed on the way down encouraged us and told us that the effort was worth it. The good energy of these places is transmitted and contagious to all of us.

El sendero si bien no es muy largo es algo complicado ya que en ocasiones sube muy abruptamente y hay que saber distribuir muy bien la energía para no agotarse, aunque los paisajes que se ven son una excelente excusa para detenerse a observar y tomar un poco de aire.

El hecho de ir con nuestra hija menor fue una dificultad extra ya que su alma aventurera y su casi inexistente conciencia del peligro hacía que uno gastara energías extras siguiéndola cuando por curiosidad intentaba soltarse de la mano. Como la idea era no solo llegar al mirador, sino que todos disfrutaramos del camino, yo accedía a hacer esos pequeños desvíos, mientras mi esposa y mi hija mayor se adelantaban.

Por partes tuve que subirla a mis hombros para poder avanzar y subir unas pendientes interesantes. Lo lindo de estos senderos y de casi todos los que recorrimos fue que las personas que nos cruzabamos que venían descendiendo nos daban ánimo y nos decían que el esfuerzo valía la pena. La buena energía de estos sitios se transmite y nos contagia a todos.

After almost an hour of walking we finally arrived at the Mirador del Lago Puelo, an incredible place where we could enjoy beautiful views of the lake. Upon arrival we took the opportunity to hydrate, eat some apples and drink some mates.

Here, as in each of the places I have visited during these vacations, I took five minutes to disconnect from my family and become aware of what my eyes had in front of them and above all to thank destiny, life and God for having taken me there.

It is really hard for me to get to places like this and not think about how lucky I am, just to be there.

After spending some time at the viewpoint, we went back to the gendarmerie post to get information about another trail that I will tell you about in a future post.

Después de casi una hora de caminata llegamos al fin al Mirador del Lago Puelo, un sitio increíble donde pudimos disfrutar de hermosas vistas del Lago. Al llegar aprovechamos para hidratarnos, comer unas manzanas y tomar unos mates.

Aquí como en cada uno de los sitios que he conocido en estas vacaciones me he tomado cinco minutos para desconectarme inclusive de mi familia y tomar consciencia de lo que mis ojos tenían delante suyo y sobre todo agradecer, al destino, a la vida y a Dios haberme llevado hasta allí.

Se me hace verdaderamente difícil llegara a sitios como estos y no pensar en lo afortunado que soy, con el solo hecho de estar allí.

Después de pasar un buen tiempo en el mirador retomamos mucho más relajados, con la sensación de haber cumplido nuestro objetivo, el camino hacia el puesto de gendarmería para recabar información sobre otro sendero que les contaré en una próxima publicación.
