River Arrayanes Footbridge, a paradise in Los Alerces National Park - Pasarela de Río Arrayanes, un paraíso del Parque Nacional Los Alerces

As I mentioned in my previous post Gutierrez Lake Viewpoint (Bariloche) - Gutierrez Lake Viewpoint (Bariloche), our 2024 summer vacation was completely relaxing and full of adventures, where we traveled many kilometers and discovered countless wonderful places in our beautiful Patagonia.
One of those places was the beautiful city of Esquel, located in the northwest of the province of Chubut, just 70 kilometers from Chile. I had never traveled so far south over the Andes, and it filled us with excitement and adrenaline.
Based in the city of Esquel was no coincidence, but rather a choice made because it is a strategic point for exploring not only Los Alerces National Park, but also the beautiful landscapes, where lakes, lagoons, and lush forests abound.

On the first day of our stay in this city, we took a trip to La Trochita (The Little Trochita), an unforgettable experience I highly recommend to anyone who comes to these latitudes.
On the second day, it was time to head out for Los Alerces National Park. That morning began with a rush of adrenaline, fueled by the excitement and anxiety of reaching that place we had dreamed of so many times.
The road was already breathtaking, marvelous, a landscape of curves and twists on the rise, filled with abundant vegetation, rivers, and streams that provided a wealth of life and tremendous energy. It was as if the road were a prelude to something unforgettable.
How can I describe the beauty of those landscapes? The sensations that ran through my body as I traveled kilometer after kilometer, wanting to observe and record those postcards in my retinas while concentrating on driving. Such beauty, such immensity in those landscapes. In those places, one truly understands how small and finite we are.

Once we entered the park and after a few stops to explore wonderful sites, we headed to the Arrayanes River Footbridge, the main site we wanted to see and that had dazzled us so many times in videos and photos.
We had been waiting for this moment almost since we left our house, so expectations were very high. Once we arrived, we entered at the park ranger's booth, and after paying the 5 USDT entrance fee, my wife and I began the hike that would take us to the Arrayanes River and its famous hanging footbridge. We crossed it and entered a wonderful trail surrounded by peace and nature everywhere we looked.

We were already where we wanted to be, enjoying the adventure and discovering that precious place. After a 500-meter walk along a trail, we reached the cherished and picturesque hanging footbridge that crosses the Arrayanes River.
I observed it from above, focused on the footbridge, integrated it with the landscape, and what happened next was simply magical. All that was left was to cross the footbridge, be dazzled by the landscape, and let our emotions flow, allowing for that beautiful connection I feel with natural surroundings, especially when they are of such extreme beauty.
The blue-green color of the river, with its serene flow along that stretch of its path, gave us the wonderful sound of water that transmits so much tranquility and serenity. The trail follows the course of the river, and at times the vegetation is so dense that it doesn't allow us to make eye contact with it, but the relaxing sound could still be heard, letting us know it was very close.

As we walked along the trail, a fresh air enveloped us, and we could enjoy the smells and sounds of nature. Many plants, countless almost invisible birds, camouflaged among the plants. Countless viewpoints and several signs highlighting the importance of preserving the health of that ecosystem, trying to raise awareness among those who walk these trails.
The point we had planned to reach on the trail was the Torrecillas Glacier viewpoint, located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the footbridge crossing. It was a considerable distance for our little girl, who was still 3 years old at the time, so she carried me on my shoulders for a good part of the journey.
This viewpoint is located on the shore of Lake Menéndez, and from there, you can see the glacier in the distance, high above the mountains on the other side of the lake. When we arrived, we found some lovely wooden huts on the beach where the girls played, and we took the opportunity to take some photos.

After staying about an hour in the place and contemplating the site we started our way back since at 7:30 pm the park rangers were leaving and we had to keep the schedule out of respect for them.
On the way back we continued marveling at the views and exploring beautiful corners.
At one point we came across a sign saying that this was an area that is usually inhabited by pumas and gave recommendations in case we met one during the hike and gave recommendations on how we should react to different reactions that the puma could have. At that moment my oldest daughter became alert for a few moments but soon forgot about it.
I explained to her that wild animals usually run away when they encounter humans and that the signage was more than anything else to let her know what not to do under any circumstances. The important thing was not to move too far away from each other and always maintain visual contact.
On the way back, before crossing the footbridge, I took a dip in the Arrayanes River to reduce the heat of the hike. Although the water was quite cold, the beauty of the place and the crystal clear water made the bath worthwhile.
After the bath it was time to leave the park and start the trip back to the city of Esquel. It was a wonderful day; a day of dreams fulfilled.
I hope you enjoyed this trip through Los Alerces National Park as much as we did and that you were able to appreciate the beauty of such preserved places as these.
I leave you a big hug!

What an amazing post, you managed to visit a very beautiful place, and I'm sure it meets your expectations.
I was amazed by the blue color of the river water, and it was very clean and very tempting. You have managed to capture the beauty of this place very well.
Amazing, have a nice day my friend
Thank you so much for your kind words! I can assure you that they far exceeded my expectations. They are places that move you, that connect you not only with the surroundings, but with the deepest part of your being.
When I visit places like these, it's almost inevitable that a tear rolls down my cheeks.
In that part, the water is turquoise, while in other places it's green, depending on how the sun hits it.
I send you a big hug and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
A spectacular tour, thank you @ , I am impressed with the images from the viewpoint of the Torrecillas glacier, and very grateful for all the pictures you took with different information about the tour.
I can tell it was a great family day.
A very big greeting.
Thank you so much for your kind words @enraizar!!! The trail was much wider, but the goal was to get there, more than anything so the girls wouldn't have a bad time or make an effort they weren't ready for.
We had a wonderful family day, and looking at the photos makes me relive those wonderful moments!
Big hug!!
Thanks for your visit!!
Hello dear friend @pablo1601, how are you?
How great that you chose to visit this part of the country on your vacation. Esquel is an excellent place to stay.
I can imagine the girls' joy during the trip on the old train and crossing the suspension bridge.
What beautiful landscapes you show us in your photographs; it was definitely a dream come true to be there.
What a beautiful hike! I enjoyed every detail you showed us.
Have a great day.
A big hug to the whole family.
Good evening, dear @jlufer !!
Esquel is a wonderful place, steeped in history and the birthplace of our indigenous peoples.
The landscapes are incredible, marvelous, like something out of a fairy tale.
The girls were very happy not only with the train ride but also with the trails we took. Almendra (the little one) is a native American and joined in on all the activities. Azul had her reservations at the beginning of each trail, but later she enjoyed it to the fullest, and you could see it in her bright eyes or when she discovered something that caught her attention and called out to us in surprise.
Thank you, dear friend, for your kind words!!
I hope we can see each other soon! We love you all and miss you!
Have a great weekend! Big hug!

Fascinante paseo!!

Keep up the great work 💪
It is an impressive place. I love the beauty of it. One of the pictures that captivated me was this one, beautiful:
From what you're told, and I noticed you have to walk quite a bit, but the view is impeccable. Perfect to disconnect from the dynamics of the city.
Hello dear @neruel !!! How lovely to read you here.
This particular trail is 1.5 kilometers long. While that distance may seem long at first, it's nothing compared to other trails that are over 25 kilometers long.
If you have a moment, check out @lauramica's posts, which are spectacular, and she creates trails that are truly long and beautiful.
The photo you shared with me is a dream location, one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and one I hope to return to soon.
That place is etched in my memory. There's a trail to a small hill where you can see that same island from above, and it's breathtaking.
Big hug.
Excelente post!! Gracias por compartir!
Dear friend @pablo1601, thank you for sharing such beauty. It was worth such a long walk. I am fascinated with your return.
A hug
You don't need to say it was a great family day, the pictures say it all. Although far away, I also enjoyed this trip. Thanks and see you soon.
