Por muy histórico que este hito sea, el soltar frases del tipo “hacer mucho con muy poco” me parece demeritar la calidad que han mostrado muchos jugadores del plantel torneo a torneo siempre que compañeros que estaban siendo claves en el esquema táctico y en el funcionamiento del equipo tuvieron que irse para sanear la economía del club. Puebla ha ido vendiendo piezas fundamentales de sus anteriores torneos y sigue consiguiendo su presencia en la liguilla, un hito del cual la plantilla más costosa de la Liga MX no puede presumir; el Club de Fútbol Monterrey ha caído eliminado en la ronda de repesca.
As historic as this milestone is, throwing around phrases like "doing too much with very little" seems to me a detraction from the quality that many players in the squad have shown tournament after tournament whenever teammates who were key to the tactical scheme and the functioning of the squad had to leave in order to make the club's finances healthy. Si pensamos en Nicolás Larcamón, muchos de nosotros lo visualizamos como un alquimista capaz de convertir las piedras en oro, yo mismo he caído en ese concepto; pero con el paso del tiempo y un análisis más profundo sobre el trabajo que ha venido realizando con el Club Puebla durante tres campañas, pienso en Larcamón como un gran gestor, es más un químico que un alquimista; es ese químico que puede producir reacciones estables y funcionales entre los elementos que tiene a su disposición.
If we think of Nicolás Larcamón, many of us visualise him as an alchemist capable of turning stones into gold, I myself have fallen into that concept; but with the passage of time and a deeper analysis of the work he has been doing with Club Puebla for three seasons, I think of Larcamón as a great manager, he is more of a chemist than an alchemist; he is that chemist who can produce stable and functional reactions between the elements he has at his disposal.
Esos elementos, sus jugadores, creen en sus propias condiciones y en las de su entrenador, luchan a muerte por el equipo con el “Laburo” -termino argentino para referirse al trabajo- como su bandera. El Puebla tuvo un gran arranque de torneo y llegó a ser líder de la competición durante algunas jornadas, aunque de la mitad del torneo en adelante, su inercia no ha sido la más positiva y por ende terminaron soltando el pase directo a la liguilla.

En su serie de repechaje ante el Mazatlán FC, los camoteros brindaron unos primeros 15 minutos maravillosos en los que se pusieron al frente en el marcador por 2-0; el primer tanto llegó al minuto 4 con un venenoso tiro-centro obra de Diego de Buen que nadie tocó y terminó por entrar directo. 10 minutos más tarde en un nuevo balón parado volvía a golpear “el Camote”; perfecta ejecución del córner por Pablo Parra y nula marca sobre Juan Pablo Segovia que remató con absoluta comodidad y parecía encaminar al Puebla a cuartos de final sin mayor sobresalto.

Pero el guion se torció con un par de goles mazatlecos en jugadas plagadas de rebotes fortuitos, el primero llegó al minuto 37’ obra de Rubio y el segundo caería en tiempo agregado, al 91’ Nicolás Vikonis -ex arquero del Puebla- subió a rematar y terminó recentrando una pelota que no pudo ser despejada y terminó colándose en el arco poblano al rebotar en Néstor Vidrio. ¡Drama en el Cuauhtémoc!
