El Imperio Romano contó con grandes y célebres emperadores desde que Luperca amamantase a Rómulo y Remo, aquella Loba Capitolina es insigne en el orbe y ha estado siempre ligada al escudo de armas de la AS Roma, el equipo al que nuestro héroe de hoy juró lealtad y amor eterno. Julio César, Augusto, Nerón, Marco Aurelio, Trajano son nombres por todos recordados; pero en la modernidad del Imperio solo existe uno, el de Francesco.
Roma tuvo emperadores buenos, malos y regulares, pero es Francesco el único hombre del Imperio que ha sido amado de manera unánime por el pueblo romano. Nacido en Roma y fiel a ella como ninguno otro ha sido, Totti, el “Imperatore” es patrimonio cultural, social, deportivo e inmaterial del Imperio.

Totti era un romano y romanista de cepa como pocos quedan. Y su legado en la entidad gialorossi es incontestable e inigualable.
Las tropas de la Assosiacione Sportiva Roma no han sido nunca las más lustrosas en el Calcio y por ello, quizá, los títulos se le resistieron tanto al Imperatore, pero su calidad y elegancia en el rectángulo en que disputaba sus batallas enamoraron al mundo. ¿Cómo no querer a aquel que amaba tanto a su modesto ejercito?
Francesco's battles were not at the level of the military, but he fought them like the best; at the age of 13 he joined the ranks of the Romanist army, never to abandon it, not even in the face of the dazzling throne offered to him by the Kings of Europe. Totti was a Roman and a Romanista like few others. And his legacy in the gialorossi club is unquestionable and unequalled.
The troops of the Assosiacione Sportiva Roma have never been the most lustrous in Calcio and that is perhaps why the Imperatore's titles were so hard to come by, but his quality and elegance on the pitch where he fought his battles made the world fall in love with him. Los ejércitos romanistas, han sido siempre importantes en el futbol italiano e incluso actores constantes en contiendas europeas, aunque sus vitrinas adolezcan títulos; solo tres “Scudetti”, el último, con la entrada del siglo, lleva el nombre del Imperatore Francesco grabado a fuego en letras de oro, de la mano de nombres insignes que codo a codo le acompañaron en los campos de batalla de toda Italia: Cafú, Emerson, Delvecchio y su entrañable “Batigol”. Tras aquel triunfo, Francesco se sentó en la misma mesa de aquellos otros insignes emperadores que le precedieron.
En 2006 llegó la gloria eterna para Francesco, luchó con tesón, vestido de azul junto a todos los guerreros de italianos sobre territorios germánicos para vencer a los mejores y así levantar la Copa del Mundo al cielo de Berlín tras derrotar a los combatientes del imperio Galo en la última batalla del “Monje blanco” -alguna vez bianconero- que los comandaba y que en 1998 los llevó a la gloria.
Francesco se hizo eterno el día que colgó sus botines como aquel que rompe sus lanzas, tras 25 años de liderazgo, Totti arrojó su espada al cauce del río Tíber y entre lágrimas dio el más emotivo de los discursos a su amado pueblo romanista. Francesco I de Roma es eterno, y sus hazañas son inolvidables para aquellos que las presenciamos. Totti vino, vio y venció, pero también amó fielmente a unos colores que son los de su vida entera.

Francesco I of Rome is eternal, and his exploits are unforgettable for those of us who witnessed them. Totti came, he saw and he defeated, but he also loved faithfully the colours of his entire life.

Siempre es un gusto leerte mi estimado Paco, y más cuando hablas de una leyenda como Totti, un verdadero emperador y guerrero dentro de la cancha. Como olvidar todas sus grandezas, es imposible para los amantes del buen fútbol.
Entiendo la comparación, y me atrevo a decir que ha sido amado no solo en Roma sino en toda Italia.

¡No totti no party! Jajaja así decían los romanos cada ves que totti no jugaba con la azurra ni con la Roma en partidos importantes, que buen post estimado @pacoandujar, simpre nos deleitas con tu escritura sobre hechos deportivos, y más que todo con el fútbol.
Este fue en su época un jugador decisivo, pues fue capitán de la Roma durante años dando todo su talento a dicha institución, además es el símbolo de la Roma ya estando retirado.
