Tras el duro golpe de la derrota ante China en su partido inaugural del Mundial Femenil Sub-17 de la FIFA en la India, la Selección Mexicana saltaba a la cancha a tener que jugarse el todo por el todo ante el Seleccionado Español de Kenio Gonzalo quien había vencido al conjunto de Colombia desplegando un buen futbol.
Las mexicanas cayeron ante la Selección de China por marcador de 2-1 habiendo errado un penalti que les habría significado el empate y la posibilidad de puntuar en su partido de presentación en la justa Mundialista, por lo que el panorama se había complicado por demás para las de Ana Galindo.
La complicación crecía al conocer el resultado del encuentro de la jornada 2 entre China y Colombia, donde las cafeteras se impusieron por marcador de 2-0 con doblete de Linda Caicedo; de caer en el partido ante España, Mexico quedaría eliminado del mundial que se disputa en la India.

La Selección Española de Kenio Gonzalo está llamada a ser una de las contendientes al título, pues la estructura del futbol femenino en España ha ido creciendo con el paso del tiempo en el plantel ibérico destacan jugadoras como Carla Camacho del Real Madrid y Vicky López de FC Barcelona.
México se jugaba la vida ante una de las escuadras llamadas a trascender en esta Copa del Mundo y las jugadoras Aztecas demostraron sangre, personalidad y mucho futbol para solventar un momento cumbre.
La oncena de Ana Galindo saltó al campo del Dr. DY Patil Sports Stadium a plantar cara, a hacer un gran futbol y pelear tú a tú con aquellas quienes en el papel eran las favoritas llegando a ser mucho mejores durante largos lapsos del encuentro.

Arrancando la segunda mitad, una gran escapada de Angelique Saldívar, quien acarreó la pelota soportando la férrea marca española para internarse en el área y probar suerte con un disparo raso, abriría la puerta para que el conjunto mexicano tomara la ventaja, la guardameta Sofía Fuente repelió el disparo y Maribel Flores se encontró el arco abierto para empujar el esferico. 1-0 para las Aztecas.
Aunque el seleccionado ibérico habría de reaccionar al minuto 73’ con Camacho centrando dentro del área y encontrando complicidad de Renatta Cota que, hasta ese momento, había sido un muro infranqueable, la pelota pasó y a segundo palo cerro Judit Pujols para emparejar el marcador.

Pero las dirigidas por Ana Galindo mostraron personalidad y cuando España las superaba en sensaciones y volumen de juego, encontraron la forma de generar el segundo tanto. Tremenda pelota de Tatiana Flores para Maribel que se descolgaba por la banda derecha, línea de fondo para la número 7 del conjunto mexicano y un servicio perfecto al área para que Saldívar empujara el gol de la victoria para México.
Victoria importantísima, un soplo de vida para el combinado mexicano en un grupo que ha quedado con 3 puntos para cada una de las 4 selecciones que lo integran; por lo que México habrá de buscar la victoria ante Colombia para pasar a la siguiente fase.

La verdad es que el grupo se ha apretado muchísimo, por lo que el ganar en la última jornada, las 4 escuadras saldrán a jugarse el todo por el todo en la última jornada. El México-Colombia se jugará a cara de perro.
