Seafood Cap Chay / Chinese-Indonesian Stir-Fried Vegetable Dish

Hi bloggers and food lovers! How ae you doing guys? Today I’m going to share a delicious and satisfying vegetable dish—one of my favorite Chinese dishes. This dish is a mix of stir-fried vegetables topped with seafood or other proteins. It’s quick and easy to make, and goes perfectly with warm rice. Okay, let’s get right to it

Ingredients:

  • veggies (carrots, cabbage, and broccoli)
  • spice paste (shallots, garlic, blended chili peppers)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 shrimp
  • 5 fish balls
  • 3 sausages
  • 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 100 ml water
  • a pinch of salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • cornstarch slurry

Instructions:

  • Sauté the ground spices until fragrant

  • Add the chopped shrimp and sausages

  • Add the sweet soy sauce

  • Add the vegetables to the pan

  • Add the water

  • Add the oyster sauce and stir until well combined

  • Add the fish balls

  • Crack the eggs and add them to the pan

  • Stir until the eggs are half-cooked

  • Add the sesame oil and cornstarch slurry

  • Stir until well combined and thick

  • Add a pinch of salt then turn off the heat

  • Serve on a plate
